OCZ ZX Series 1250 W Review

A Look Inside »

Packaging

The PSU comes in a nice and heavy package that thankfully features a carrying handle. On the front right corner the capacity of the PSU is highlighted and in the bottom left corner are two small badges, one for the 80Plus Gold efficiency and one for the five-years warranty that OCZ gives with this PSU. Most of the front is occupied by a picture of the PSU on black background. On the rear of the box we find a brief reference to the PSU's main features.

Contents

The interior of the packaging is well designed and of high quality. The PSU is wrapped in plastic and is also protected by packaging foam. Although the protection is more than enough I would like to see it in a cloth bag, since I like luxury! The bundle includes a user's manual, several Velcro cable ties, a set of thumb screws for chassis mounting, the AC power cord and a nylon bag that holds all modular cables.

Exterior

The PSU has no hardwired cables and is fully modular like the Corsair AX and Seasonic X hi-end series. It features a light matte finish which is a finger print magnet. Personally I liked the shiny gold labels very much, they give a hint about the efficiency of the PSU. In general the external construction shows high quality workmanship. Let's see if the internals will have the same quality.
