Seasonic PRIME Series 750 W Review

Specifications »

Introduction

We would like to thank Seasonic for supplying the review sample.

Seasonic finally released its Prime Titanium line which thus far consists of three members with capacities ranging from 650 W to 850 W. Two more units will soon be added; a passive unit with a capacity of 600 W and their flagship 1 kW model. According to our sources, the Prime 600 FL Titanium will have an MSRP of around $190, while the Prime 1000 will be more expensive at $260. Street prices will be lower, though, and we will hopefully see other vendors use the Prime platform, which will most likely push prices down even further.

The SSR-750TD is right in the middle of the current Prime family, featuring a moderate capacity of 750 W, which will easily meet the needs of a strong gaming system equipped with two high-end graphics cards and a potent CPU. This PSU also features a fully modular cable design, semi-passive operation, Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fan, and nothing but quality parts inside, including nothing but Japanese capacitors, both electrolytic and polymer. We had the chance to take a look at the 650 W and 850 W versions and their results were impressive, so we expect the same of the Prime 750.
