Introduction

From the SilentiumPC website:
Being a PC enthusiast or a gamer on a budget is an uneasy task, choosing all those high-end components, loads of RAM and powerful graphics usually leaves you with only a small amount of money to spend on decent case or power supply. Having such experience ourselves we were confident we can design products that combine ultimate functionality with best value for money and aesthetically pleasing design.

This is the genesis of SilentiumPC established in 2007, Warsaw, Poland.

Since then we bring high-quality silent PC cases, power supplies and cooling solutions that simply get the job done without breaking the bank. And how do we it? Well, we share the old-school belief that good products are the key to success. No aggressive marketing, no flashy banners everywhere, no mighty slogans. Instead, we're putting our efforts into effective design and smart cost-cutting, so you get no fancy boxes or stuff you don't need, just the pure essence of functionality at unbeatable prices.

The product-development process focuses on user-experience - how the product will function, how you will interact with it. We start by asking the right people the right questions and choose the most desired features.

But we don't just keep in good contact with end-users and enthusiasts, we are also part of the gaming and overclocking community ourselves. Most ideas come to us first hand, and we implement and test everything ourselves first. Yeah, even the guys at the warehouse mod their PCs. So it's safe to say that all SilentiumPC products are not tested on animals, they are tested on us!

Our fair and consistent approach has been appreciated; over the years, SilentiumPC has grown to become one of the most recognizable and popular brands in Poland, highly praised by the users, press, and business partners. This inspired our confidence to expand to other EU markets, and we hope you'll be the part of this next step of our master plan.

So this is us and our little world at SilentiumPC, and you are welcome.

SilentiumPC was founded in Warsaw, Poland, in 2007, with their first product on the market the Zephyr fan. From those humble beginnings, they have pushed forward to win Benchmark.pl's manufacturer of the year award in 2012. They have also since improved and expanded their offerings from just fans to CPU coolers, cases, and even power supplies. No longer content to be a big fish in a small pond, they have since set their sights on Europe and beyond.

SilentiumPC is a new name, a new company, and a new manufacturer that may just offer the products you are looking for. To disregard them because you haven't heard of them could be considered foolish as everyone wants to get the best performance they can, and SilentiumPC focuses on offering solutions that don't break the bank. Price to performance is always important, and in their native country, Poland, SilentiumPC has established quite a name for itself in that regard. Having already won some awards, it just goes to show that even a relatively unknown manufacturer can offer exceptional products.

Today's review will cover the SilentiumPC Grandis XE1236 CPU cooler. It uses a traditional dual-tower design that makes use of six 6 mm heatpipes and, instead of dual 140mm fans, dual 120mm fans. Taking design cues from the competition's heavy-weight dual-tower coolers, SilentiumPC keeps their offering under control in terms of height and cost. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the competition.
