Installation

When I went to peel off the base protector cover, it left a sticky residue all over the base. It was a real pain to get off as well, and should not have happened, but at least this time the cooler had one.

Installation of the 082 is very straight forward. The cooler was tested on a 939 system, so it was just a matter of lining up the cooler with the CPU and sliding the retention module in place and securing it. Xigmatek decided to use the same mounting system as the 055 cooler which I found was a huge pain before for AMD bases systems. They did however improve the way the clip lines up with the cooler base, and in return makes it a little easier. However, if you're trying to mount the cooler with everything in the case, it still can be tricky holding the cooler and getting the clip to line up.

For Intel 775 based systems the cooler needs two clips mounted. These simply screw into the base of the cooler via two screws. Once in place, the cooler can be simply clipped into place on the motherboard.

The cooler has plenty of clearance around all of the components on the motherboard and should have no compatibility issues with other boards.
