A Closer Look

Simply open the top of the tube and pull out the pad. The first thing noticable besides the weight is its thickness. Zykon opted for the very widespread, soft format for their P3 mouse pad. It is completely void of any fancy images, except for the company logo on the right corner of the pad. Other firms place names or even the URL to their website in this location as well, but Zykon has chosen not to do so. This may make it hard for your neighbour at a LAN party to figure out who actually makes the P3. The Zykon logo is applied to the pad and not printed on the cloth surface. You can feel the difference, which may become a problem if you ever end up in that corner with your mouse. Luckily that is not something that will happen very often.

Placing the mouse pad with its underside facing up is possible, but as you can see, it still rolls up a bit on the edges. This should diminish after a few longer gaming sessions. The anti-skid bottom has a profile similar to that of car tires. You will not have to worry about the P3 moving around while in a fierce fire fight, simply because it is so large and heavy. The textured underside does the rest to keep it in place.
