Mark Cuban says: only a "moron" would buy YouTube.

YouTube is famous for letting users upload their short clips for the internet to see. YouTube is also infamous for hosting copyrighted material, such as music videos, cartoons, and full legnth television shows. YouTube has responded to the copyright problems by working on contracts with big producers to make the content legal. They currently make all their money off of banner ads, promotions and sponsorships. There has recently been alot of talk of the possibility of buying YouTube. Mark Cuban, a billionare, co-founder of HDNet and owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, doesn't quite see YouTube as a cash cow. Cuban claims that YouTube will be "sued into oblivion" due to copyright issues, and "anyone who buys that (YouTube) is a moron" because of potential lawsuits from copyright violations. Cuban also doesn't like the advertising potential of the website. "User-generated content is not going away," he said. "But do you want your advertising dollars spent on a video of Aunt Jenny watching her niece tap dance?" Cuban also pointed out that when "Somebody puts up something really good and you get, what, 60,000 viewers?".

Mr. Cuban:

Speaking for everyone, I see? Well, my man, listen up: What I find valuable, is not what YOU find valuable... what I find amusing, may not be what YOU find amusing.

For all your monies, & wealth, I have to ask 1 thing: What investment of yours does YouTube adversely affect, that you feel you must try to put 'bad press' & lousy P.R. on it?

APK

P.S.=> This is usually the case, when the rich man speaks out against something plenty of folks like - it is a something that MAY adversely affect something HE plunged a lot of coins/deadpresidents, into...

When you see/hear things like this, OR new laws being passed? Always question WHY... & who stands to gain/lose by it... apk

He's mainly saying that youtube would be a very bad investment, not that it's a bad website. He's not a fan of "viral" advertising, and thinks that the copyright issues will crash youtube...But I think I've said that already .

This is why I wrote what I did, especially because someone of great wealth stated it - I tend NOT to trust them in this capacity, because money is power & it MIGHT affect folks' like he is & their investments (other less visible ones than you mention that is).
zekrahminatorHe's not a fan of "viral" advertising,
I was NEVER very sure of what this term meant...

This remains to be seen, but... he may be correct on it. Especially if some fool posts films of say, his ex-g/f, in her b-day suit, etc. lol!
