Documents Leak NVIDIA's Quantum Physics Engine
Companies are more or less getting used to the new physics market, offering their products for fast physical-effect rendering.
NVIDIA is about to introduce its physics accelerating solution with the G80 silicon.
"Quantum utilizes some of the shaders from NVIDIA's G80 processor specifically for physics calculations. Physics calculations on GPUs are nothing new; ATI totes similar technology for its Stream Computing initiative and for the Triple Play physics." says Daily tech.

(Heck, I could be "WAY OFF" here, but that's part of what I picked up on it... this may sound dumb, but I actually like to look @ the enemies on the ground just to see the art done for them @ times while gaming... currently, in Quake 4 (even 1.2-1.3 SMP models)? They just 'fade away' after being killed...)
