I think Windows 7 works well. Simple and to the point. I'm having no probs at all with it no I have stopped using IE8.

I like the name, although I've recently been stumbling over the name in my head, which insists it is Vista 7. Idk why, but Vista 7 works better for me than Windows 7.

It is unoriginal and uninspired. I like version by Year the best (Win 95, Office 97, Win 98, Office 2000, Win 2000, Server 2000, Server 2003, Server 2008, etc.)
It tells you approximate age of the computer without having to look it up. How many know that XP was released in 2001, for instance?
Windows 3.1, 4.0, 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 6.0, 7.0, etc. is effective for applications but not for operating systems because of all the constant tweaking. Those numbers are best used internally and not for marketing. The only reason most companies confuse the two is to make it clear to the user that they will have to lay down money to update which is a mostly negative thing.

I wish they would have stuck with the numbering from the beginning. Though if they did that, I don't think a lot of people would have upgraded from 5.0 to 5.1, even though they should have.
