i am right or i am wrong is there a Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 with only 1x6pins out or have i read something in my dreams?

I can't find anything on google about a 1 6 pin connector. asfaik I think it needs both of them because of its 200 watt power draw.

ino, a Palit GeForce GTS 250 1gb cost $200.37 delivered to my door and a Palit GeForce GTX 260 (216SP) cost $240.51 delivered too me, and i am gaming at 1680x1050 at my 22inch TFT, so it will never be any good taking the GTS250-1g then there is only about $40 from buying a GTX260 :rolleyes:

A 260 will do very well at that resolution, and as I just found out still kicks plenty of ass at 1920x1080 too puma. Since the GTS250 is an 8800GTS512/9800GTX G92 part I think you'd be better off with the G200 GTX2xx card. Definately awesome cards, I ran a bench for Polarman to compare his 4890 to in World in Conflict, Assissin48 donated with his 4870X2 also. Damn killer cards for sure, and this is just one game, but I still felt pretty damn good about my results.

And your PSU should do just fine, my rig (see sys specs) ran fine on my Corsair HX520 w/o any issues. I only upgraded to the PC P&C because of such a good deal and her PSU was on the way out. Go for the GTX260 now, bang for the buck it's amazing and well worth it.

Why would you want a single pin solution ? You can always get a molex to 6-pin power connector adapter ( even though most cards come with one in the bundle ) so it does not matter if your PSU only has a single 6-pin power connector.

Okay did my own little test and it appears you need both in. I've tried on or the other and none and no dice.

260's have to be 2x 6 pin due to the current needed to operate the card. You only get 75 watts from each pci connector and the card draws more than 150 watts(75 watts from PCI slot also).

A 260 isn't much slower than a 285. I know a 260 can run all games at max settings 1920 x 1080 quite well.

How about a 4890 1GB from various manufacturers for $249 before a $20 MIR? If your going to spend $240-ish you may as well get a 4890 as it scales very well.

Crossfire action on your X38 and it beats the 260 in all resolutions.

eVGA GTX260 886mb - $159.99 after $20 MIR + Free shipping.

I'd get the 260...slightly better than the 4870 but at that price you can't refuse it.

PCIe 2.0 didn't increase the power from the slot, it just brought a new revision of the PCIe power connector, the 8 pin cable that provides 150w. The slot itself only provides up to 75w.

8pin was out before pci-e 2.0. It was used on the 8800GTX and it was pci-e 1.1

i live in denmark so if i buy something at newegg or outside europe it will cost me alot of money to get it in the country and i am really not a big ATi fan to many issue's does that i am not ATi so Nvidia goes for me
