What do you want most from the gaming industry?

In game video after 12 years amazing.

What id also like to see here in oz is cheaper prices for games as 70 odd for pc and over 100 for console is just daylight robbery.

they've changed engines three times and scrapped and restarted at least five times. where all this development money comes from is a mystery...

I always thought that 3d realms staff just gave each other piggy back rides for 12 years.

Its from Al Qaeda. You see their plan for DN:F is to drag it out as long as possible and eventually drive the gaming populous insane. They know this includes Obama as hes a huge Madden fan. Once we fall in fetal positions at the bottom of our grandmas basement they will simply fly over here on their magic carpets and take over. The whole time never having to fire a shot except at Rush Limbaugh, Jack Thompson and maybe Ted Nugent but I think hes a Quake player.

Personally I enjoy games that are open ended with the opportunity for downloadable and mod content. Similar to the GTA series or Fallout 3. I don't think graphics are a determining factor, even if the eye candy is awesome, as much as a rich or fun story line but one that does not require you to have to play for several hours.

Quality storylines with odd exceptions (bioshock ect) has been lacking in modern games. Sure the games of yesteryear diidnt look great but the storylines were great. These days its same old stuff with the odd gem thrown in just to suprise us

1) Valve to release HL2:EP3 *NOW*
2) Alan Wake released *SOON*
3) Id to give more info on upcoming Rage game
4) Bioshock 2 released this year
5) STOP THE SECUROM!!!

YES on HL Ep3. BUT its okay with me that they take their time. I want an EPIC Episode 3, a worthy last part.

And Alan wake is still not released? When did I first read about it... how many years ago?

And i want DNF to be thrown out the doors and into stores even if its half finished, I want my DNF dam it!!!!.

1. Longer single player games and multiplayer included with all games.
2. DRM/SecureROM to go away
3. Great storylines to games
4. Better graphics and games optimized for all graphics hardware
5. A promise never to port anything from any game console. To write code meant for PC's.
6. Prompt adoption of DX11

I agree with this 100%. You have earned the coveted Wile E seal of approval.

I'd like to see more companies write in native support for Linux based systems. Honestly it's the only reason I haven't switched over to Arch or Gentoo Linux as my primary OS. I mean it's cool that ID and Epic port games to Linux exclusively but with the likes of Ubuntu coming into popularity, it would be a good move. Wine and Cedega work for a lot of stuff but I still can't get Psychonauts to run.

BTW, Psychonauts is pretty sweet. I just replayed it!

You need to also get on the card manufacturers for that. Their Linux drivers aren't up to snuff, at least in comparison to the Windows drivers.

The biggest problem tho, isn't the gaming devs or the card manufacturers. It's that all the various Linux devs won't pull their heads out of their asses and agree on a standardized installer, instead of just arguing why theirs is better. :shadedshu In fact, that is probably the biggest issue that keeps Linux from becoming truly popular.

Damn good point tho. It would be nice if games were all cross-platform. Might as well throw OS X in there as well.

I just finished Gears of War for the PC and I have something I want from the gaming industry....games that end! I hate games that leave you hanging for a sequel for no reason. Especially when they never intend to make one for the platform. Burn in hell Cliffy B.

I want a gaming technology capable enough to mach the Holodeck on USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D :)

I asked, I received, Square-Enix got paid.

Dev's, you really should read this thread :)
