S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat Release Date Finalised

Having previously revealed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat will be released worldwide in February, publishers bitcomposer and Viva Media have announced that GSC Game World's radioactive open-world PC shooter will arrive in North America on February 2.

Closer in style to the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl than its prequel Clear Sky, Call of Pripyat packs DirectX 11 support--as can be seen in the benchmark tool.

German and Russian editions of Call of Pripyat were released earlier this year.

thank you mailman your facking AWESOME:respect::respect:

im the only one who cares about this game:(

I care, but the first time i played it i got BSoD... lol. No other game causes that... hmmm...

Will have to give it another go soon.

Just awesome. I should play Clear Sky again in 10.1 since im actually using an ATI card.

there are screenshots and a discussion of the russian verison in another thread - it might be the screenshot thread but im not sure

I haven t even played S:SOC, cause it was too much asking out of my 8600gt, which i had at the time. Played and hour or so of the game, it actually freaked me out, effects were nice, especially the lightning. Maybe I should give it another try. But i ve heard a lot of horror stories about bugs, thats what keeps the game in my drawer.

Yeah it played fine but not like it was supposed to (had to downtone it), so instead of of admiring the scenery when throwing bolts around, i was actually despising it

When i first got the first Stalker i hadent played it. Years later i got Clear Sky and still didnt play it. My dad beat both games and got all ending and STILL hadent played it (me). Finally, after talk of the 3rd game is out i randomly decide to play the game and loved it. Thankfully, with hardware capable of kicking this engines ass hehe

The way its meant to be played haha!

Exactly and i can even benefit from 10.1 woooot! :rockout:

Yes! Can't wait :D

Have both Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky and i haven't played them in a very long time. They just don't hold my interest.

If i do get this, it will more likely be an impulse buy.

i bought clear sky when d2d had that $5 deal going on. I installed the game, played for about 10 minutes and couldn't go on any longer. just had a very cheesy feel to it, reminded me of call of juarez or some pogo fps if they had one. I'll give the cdkey to anyone that wants it.

pc gaming is so lame right now. need.good.games.

both stalkers i love. but i can only play thru them once.
any after that and i get bored. the first play thru is awesome. subsequent ones are just boring.
with clear sky it wouldnt be so bad if you didnt have to spend so much time in the swamp - i HATE the swamp.

im the only one who cares about this game:(

Nope. I'm looking forward to the English version. I started to play the Russian version with the "English Translation" but soon gave it up.

First play through is awesome (apart from the many, many, many bugs) but second time around is where mods come into play.

lol, ditto ;)

I couldn't stand SoC, but rather enjoyed CS, so no, I'm not really caring for this one lol. Although I'll probably get it to see what they've done with DX11, since I'll have at least one 5850 by then - if not two

I wount buy english release, because i finished russian release 2months ago

Have the RUS copy, and 'tis an awesome game.

As it stands, there's some english translation "mods" available, but I haven't really looked into them. There's talk at GSC that they make the game fairly playable for those that don't understand RUS.

Either way, I plan on picking up the NA release, which is still slated for the first week of Feb (the date keeps getting bumped around). Although, I think it's a little BS on the publisher's part to have released the localized versions so far apart. German was released first, followed by the RUS release, then the Polish release, then the Czech version (IIRC). WW/EUR is still not released, and neither is NA - although WW/EUR will be released first.

Overall it's an excellent game. Extremelly stable. I have yet to run into a single CTD or other issue, and very few others have had problems. There is one patch for the RUS release already, and it supposedly fixes some very, very rare issues. A second patch is planned for release before the end of the year, and no further patches (unless absolutely needed). The NA release will contain both patches already installed. Either way, you can look forward to probably one of the most solid and non-glitchy games of the last few years . . . the only users I know of who've had problems are those that have been using a pirated copy with fixed .EXE cracks - and our recommendation has been the same throughout: "Buy the friggin game."

Gameplay is very much a cross between SoC and CS. More - the gameplay of SoC mixed with the visuals of CS.

i have the german ass release, damn i hate german language i prefer better learn chinese or japan they looks easy compared to german.

I do not understand what i have to do and im locked, need to wait the italian release ( february )...

Pretty much how I feel too.

This game is massive. Straight off your given a really big area and loads of missions... im lost... lol.

First bit is like the swamps, but... bigger and more random. Then the local bar is in a shored ship... haha.

"Get out of here, Stalker" - Had to.

So is this a prequel? Also is it DX11?
