Response to forum violations

The Point of this thread is to discuss If an administrator or moderator modify/delete/move a thread or post they should notify the offending party/user who caused the problem., especially if its something where they are not doing anything 'wrong'.

I can only speak for myself but If someone deletes my posts I'm going to re-post my thread if I was not given a pm for why it occurred. (In the case of a deletion where there has been no contact between the Admin/Mod and user).


Why this came up:

I have some fresh infractions and had a heated conversation with erocker trying to figure out who deleted a thread of mine and why. I still don't know who it was, I don't really care. Erockers job would just have been easier if the first moderator.administrator would have sent me a pm after the modifications. (They did not, so I reposted my thread and received an infraction from Erocker)

I'm quite sure we discussed why your thread was deleted a week ago. You were offering things for trade without having the appropriate pictures. Regardless of if you posted your thread as [WTB] it's not acceptable. Who deleted it really doesn't matter as any thread in the B/S/T forum that doesn't follow the guidelines gets deleted.

No suck up intended here! This is a TPU policy that is TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY for the PROTECTION of its members!
With having said that, a courtesy PM would have been respectful! Thats simple common knowledge.

Its also common knowledge about the trade sections requirements.

I don't know if something is wrong, thats not the impression I wanted to give, I can try to make it clearer at the top so its easier to understand.

I have no issue with what erocker did, its not personal at all to me, I don't even care who made the initial delete and did not inform me. I just wonder if it might not be better if admins inform us when they moderate that way we dont repeat things they dont like. I can't say for sure but I think were all big enough to have this conversation.

Thats why you deleted it the 2nd time, and then you got a hold of me.
No one sent a pm when it was deleted the first time, which would have kept it from happening a 2nd time and the infraction. The rest of why it happened was not part of this convo (at least for me).

The point is to consider the idea that if actions like this (thread deletion) are made should moderators maybe be required to contact users(Or give us an infraction stating what happened? I did not get an infraction, and I did not get a pm, so I did not know what was going on.)

Its also common knowledge about the trade sections requirements.

I was not posting it as Trade so I thought it was ok, its not the point of the thread though, I don't want to muck up the suggestion with the details of why I got the infraction.

another thought is selling on TPU is a nice perc but, its also very good to TPU as well (traffic) ...this is a wash each others hands type thing for all involved..(just think how the value of TPU would badabing if the sell/trade section turned into something kinda big the value is incredible for that senerio...I think a courtesy PM for clarity should be mandatory...I"m thinking it will be soon

"You MUST have a picture of the item WITH your name HAND WRITTEN on a piece of paper at the time you post it for sale. NO EXCEPTIONS! No posts stating "pics up in a minute" or any such nonsense. Your thread will be deleted immediately without explanation if you do this. "

No explanation is required in that case. If it was something else, you should be notified.

If were going to keep poking at it Frick, It was a WTB thread, where I without thinking listed some ram I would be willing to trade if the person wanted it. There were no pictures because I did not want to sell it , its not like this is the first think I have bought sold here (Its literally about the 15th item since 2006).

As I said at the top (but I did revise it to make it clearer) The Point of this thread is to discuss "If an administrator or moderator modify/delete/move a thread or post they should notify the offending party/user who caused the problem."

Which no, my thread was deleted and I was not told why (or anything), I then put it back up and received an infraction from a different admin who did tell me why it was deleted.

1. It's an irrelevant issue
2. It is already a rule I am not aware of that a moderator violated when they did not inform me of their action.

Because I think it is relevant and I think the TPU community mods should have to give feedback on the actions they take. Or were you just trolling?

No I was very angry and I kept it out of my thread and in PM's and then I apologized.
Your right it was a warning, I will take this moment to tell everyone that as it was just said above and apparently I need to respond to it for people to realize I see that. I did not receive an infraction.

I did not want to rant, I want you to delete this thread and im going to repost it without saying anything about myself because you are not willing to take an idea into consideration apparently.

NO I COULD NOT. It was deleted I could not see it at all. If it had been closed I would have, but I could not and I could not see comments people had made (in a wtb thread)that I only knew about because I received emails about them.
