I think you missed out the word "use"

... Neither do I now since Windows 7 anyway's I love that you are able to pin items to the task bar although there was the quick launch option in XP & Vista it was just something that didn't appeal to me at the time.

I've used shell for a probably a half a year now and I love the program. makes me feel like xp and still look like a win 7 "start"

Well... Classic Shell is something I didn't know about

You should check it out, it is really awesome. I only really use it to get the up arrow in explorer(personally I don't like the classic start menu, so luckily you can turn that off). But it also have a bunch of other nice little UI tweaks for Win7.
