GT5 is delayed. NOOOO

Oh Shit !!!
I was waiting for this to compete with NFS: Hot Pursuit. :wtf:

AH just ordered it an hour or so ago now that I'm sure it will be released. Hope it will be in my mailbox next Wednesday as promised. I took these last 2 weeks off on the premise of the original release date only to be crushed to hear it was delayed yet again. But NOW it's gonna pay off(tho I will only have a few days free to play it they will most CERTAINLY be well spent with my Playseat Evo and G25 firmly planted in front of my 46" HD TV :pimp:

I can't wait to play GT5!..........oh wait I don't have a PS3. I fail.

Lol I could have posted that yesterday morning, but now... dum da dumdum...

Preowned PS3 purchased:D

For only 1 game....:confused::p:o

GT :nutkick: Everything else

I have this weird sickly feeling in my stomach... I hope it was just the beets last night.

i dont think i will preorder because i wont have a chance to pick up the game until friday night at the latest since i will be out of town for the holiday. plus, i want to trade in a bunch of games to help pay for it.

Trade in games? Blasphemy! I stopped doing that earlier this year, got sick of the return, ebay is much more profitable. Whats your PSN name Easy? Mines Grevenilvec.

this is funny imo. gt4 was released 2004. almost took them at least 5 or 6 years to make this game. ah well i dont have a ps3 and i wont buy it for this game. ill just survive the year with need for speed:HP and test drive unlimited 2. i think that i will dot fine with those two racing games.

Thats what over 1000 cars with full damage model (premium cars even body panels fly off), and it's basically endless with its own track creator.

Odds are that is true, seeing as that game didn't have the sticky seals on it, only plastic wrap.

I don't recall any security seals on my recent game purchases. I don't think Sony does that any more.

Well the PS3 came out 4 years ago and GT:HD (was to be released late 2007) looked extremely dated from what we see now, and that was 3 years ago. Take this info for what its worth. GT came a long way in a short time IMHO.

Now (GT5):

Then (GT:HD):

I lol at this a little.... compete?

NFSHP would get laughed out of the room by GT5, there isn't any competition between the two.

Not fanboying, I love the NFS series for the most part but this is like Featherweight vs. Heavyweight. They shouldn't compete they are in completely different classes.

Wow, I have looked at a lot of GT5 screenshots and it looks amazing, I played a bit of GT:HD, but it's been a long time, the difference is amazing. Now that I look at it, I can't even see much of a difference between GT3/4 and GT:HD, maybe thats why it wasn't all that appealing.

I've lost interest in this game from waiting for it so long....

When the PS3 came out, it was assumed that a GT4 HD will be coming within a year or so, around late 2007. It was called GT:HD. GT:HD wasn't appealing because it had a pay-per-car/track system (milking money from the iTunes business model), which the fan base hated the idea. So Sony/PD canned it and decided it is best to move directly into GT5, a HD version of proper GT4. However, GT5 did not release is 2007. Three years of additional development game us many features, plus photo realistic graphics, that haven't been seen in or together in a game. It is best to think that GT5 is GT6: Prologue.

Enjoy!

Warning: There are what could be considered SPOILERS! Such as prize cars and other stuff. I'm in no f*ck*ng way going to be held responsible for ruining your GT5 experience by reading/watching this. Ye' been warned.

it cant come soon enough >_< i need gt5

somebody should start a clubhouse so we can all get each others PS3 names and race together :rockout:

Actually it's not fair to compare simulation vs arcade racing game. Just about racing game :toast:

Yeah but GT is just way better. So much more to do than pick a cop or racer and drive. nfshp doesnt even have a manual tranny.

Anyway created the GT5 club forum. Ill put some formatting in my post when i get home. At work my tpu forum is nerfed, no buttons or anything. Gran turismo 5 club house

you seem to be ignoring the fact that some people like arcade racers over racing sims. yes they do compete because they are both racing games, but there are players that would never buy one or the other.

Of course GT5 is better made, is more accurate, has more cars, all that. but it's also hard, and a lot of people don't like spending hundreds of hours hating themselves for sucking at a game.... that happens often with the GT series, and not so often with the NFS series.

you also have to take into consideration how many people can actually play the game. GT5 is amazing for selling what it does, considering it is only on 1/5 of the market, whereas nfs goes on pretty much all of it. but that also means tons of people can't possibly play gt without buying a playstation, which though you did, and others will - is not going to be the common response.

so your arguments really are fanboying, stating that's not the case doesn't make it untrue. you are basing your argument off of your own opinion, and your own experience - not objective fact.

you could objectively say NFS can't possibly compete with the accuracy, graphics, etc - but to simply say "it can't compete" is a generic and untrue statement.

Just because some people don't like/can't handle realistic driving simulators is not a point of factual comparison. Anyone can like and handle GT5 as anyone's preferences and skills can change as mine and yours undoubtedly have... I know I started out with NFS2 and eventually played GT3 later in life, sucked at it, practiced got better and started to love it. I know some people just aren't into racing sims, but when i say something can't compete i'm not talking about sales figures or any one person's opinion. I am talking about a direct un-biased comparison of game features and game performance.

I wouldn't compare NBA street to NBA 2k11 because one is arcade and one is simulator, it is difficult to make a fair comparison without ending up with subjective results. I would however compare NBA2k10 to NBAlive10 because they ARE comparable. When u compare NFS to GT5 all u do is start a flame war... I like sim , no sim is stupid, arcade is more fun... blah blah blah. The only thing you can really compare them on is game features/performance not fun factor, personal preference, funding, system ownership, or skill level because these things very widely from person to person.

By saying they can't compete it seems that I have started a small flame war, and for that I apologize.

I will retract previous statement of "there isn't any competition between the two" and replace it with. "There isn't any competition between the two when it comes to any non-subjective comparisons."

and then replace it with... "They shouldn't be compared because i don't want the thread locked."
