Yeah, its like dangling a carrot infront of a donkey............for like 5 years :D

Sony made the executive decision to delay it. PD head apologized on his twitter, they missed the prod deadline by 3 days. They had to put finishing touches on some complex systems.

GT5 is the next Duke Nukem Forever :D

They had 8 players hooked up on a moto show here in Oslo last weekend. I didn't have time to play, but it looked really nice.

Yeah, I was excited, hearing that short delay before meant it was close. Instead of coming out on November 2nd the game went gold on that date, meaning as we speak the discs are being made, very cool, won't be long now!

As of now, all the hype is gone. When I see it in my hands, then I'll re-hype.

GT5 is less than 9 days away now... my PS3 will be here tomorrow >_<

Holy crap, 9 days, I didn't realize it was that close, I got to go pay the rest off, I wonder how much the premium DLC cars will be, I need my ZR1 at least.

Hell, GT5 isn't even out after all these years and guess what, they are already working on GT6. Wtf? I guess this one will come out in 2020!

Source : Gran Turismo 6

GT6 wont take as long. GT3 took a while back in the day, but GT4 did not. A lot of the ground work is done for GT6. As I understand it, they basically took ideas that didnt fit in GT5 and threw to the Gt6 project.

They disc was "obtained" by a guy in Czech. It was not released early by Sony or anything. Sony needs the time to make the rest of the copies and get them spread around the globe before a release.

That's right, while GT5 isn't even out the door yet, reports are emerging on the development of GT6. Speaking with Kazunori Yamauchi – the driving force behind the franchise pictured above – AutoWeek asked if work had already begun on the sixth installment. Yamauchi confirmed that they're working on it, but would say no more. All we can say is that it likely won't be here for some time to come, and who knows what cars will even look like by then.
The foul stench of FUD is all around this. I mean, GT5 hasn't even been released yet, what's the point for a GT6? I, for one, would not like this to happen. GT5 has potential and with the PSN network, the game can grow trough DLCs instead of releasing a full new game (unlike GT4). So far, and at least for me, GT5 is just a GT4 in HD with 310 or so new cars (including the variations), a few tracks taken out, 13 added (not counting variations) and tons of eye candy. So not worth the 70€. When there's more cars and tracks trough DLC, I'll consider buying the game (plus, I'd have to buy the console too and the HD cable). But if they release GT6 anytime soon (like in 4 years), it won't get that much attention because people won't have the time to get bored with GT5. Just my two €cents.

GT5 has(had) a very large project team. Now that it is finished, and just in the process of production, distribution, and shelf stocking ready for launch, you aren't going to leave a bunch of highly paid developers sitting on the sofa watching TV and goofing around on the web incl. chatting in webforums. You are going to put them to work!

I'm sure there are plenty of edition 2010 and 2011 car models that are not in GT5 and need to be prepared for GT6. As well as a few engine and performance tweaks that are out of scope for GT5 but are becoming evident with beta testing. Not bugs, but feature changes.

I can well imagine the GT6 project is already started.

It's releasing on the 24th of this month.

The date is locked in: Gran Turismo 5 will go on sale throughout North America on Wednesday, November 24th.

That means you’ll be experiencing over 1,000 cars, including karts and select NASCAR cars, scores of tracks, the all-new Course Maker, a dynamic weather system, a robust online community, and everything else Gran Turismo 5 has to offer in less than two weeks.

Along with confirming the November 24th date, Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital Inc. had this to say:

"Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Program! When we created the original Gran Turismo back in 1997, we wanted to set a completely new precedent for the racing genre. With the technological leap onto PlayStation 3, our objective with Gran Turismo 5 was to create another great revolution which would not only satisfy our own high expectations, but would meet or even exceed the anticipation of the fans. Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts, which is why it was such a difficult decision to delay the release of the game, and one which we did not take lightly. I can only apologize to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed."

Youre right on the low tracks. But it does offer more than gt4. A way better physics engine, karting, a course maker, amazing engine noise, online play. There is some things they could add through dlc. But I imagine for the most part they would rather do another release in two years time.

I'm quite excited for this game I must say. But they better not make EVERYTHING in this DLC. Just a cheap way to make more money off of things that should have originally been in the game.

So why exactly is everyone so hyped about this game? Looking at the new features in wiki doesn't really make me want to get this game?

Is it just that its the First GT game on bluray for the ps3, yall are just big fans or what?

That's a big part for reason being i dont have a wheel for the ps2, nor my ps2 or gt4 anymore. The graphic and physic overhaul is amazing. Its been finely tuned from gt4 to be more life like. they overall just add more small features. its not like a nfs game with a completely different angle. no sim racer works like that really.

this game is going to be tits! :rockout:

indeed it is. my dfgt is purring away in the closet waiting to unleash fury. but oh nfs hp is done install :D

I'm a huge fan of Gran Turismo. I really pray they don't do anything through DLC. I don't want to pay for new tracks or vehicles.
