Would someone recommend me a game with a great replayablity and is so much fun(PC or Xbox 360)???

I need some offline, solo, singleplayer game that can be played for long periods of time, no matter what the genre is. for example, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Galactic Civlizations II, NBA 2k11, Grand Theft Autos, Half-Life(because of the mods, especially Gmod), The Sims, Red Dead Redemption, Rock Band, Fight Night, etc.

Not games like Call of Duty(i said solo, so multiplayers not counted), Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Gears of War, Resident Evil, Crysis, Assassins Creed, , etc or any other that have a story and when the story ends youre only left with playing the same story again with different bonuses/gimmicks in the 2nd playthrough. Ive played these games and their really good but what i need is something that would keep me busy without having to change games immediately. :banghead:

Plus if the story is so great you would even tend to beat it in a hurry just to find out the whole story, thats what happened to Mass Effect. In GTA IV it happened but theres additional things you could do. :rockout:

Maybe theres a hidden game somewhere waiting to be played by me for a long time. :D

Just keep em' coming.

Deus Ex
Dragon Age
Fallout NV ( kinda )
HL2
Divinity 2
Mass Effect
FEAR ( although that was to run though the story again for the 2sd one ).
The Witcher EE ( although same reason as FEAR ) Although there are little bits.
NWN 1
Arma 1/2 due to addons missions available online.

I am sure there is more if i sat heret and thought about it longer and these just imo and what i found replayable.

System Shock 2. Oldie but goldie. With 3 initial branches, the gameplay mode is completelly different. Marine is more firepower oriented, navy is more to hacking and use of ship systems and PSI Ops is more into psyonic combat and advantages. This is what defines your main gameplay. Then you sculpt it based on your needs and preference and also the entire game works different each time, be it container content, be it enemies, everything is different each time except the red line that follows the awesome story. Anyone who hasn't played it yet, do so fast or if you already have too modern system to run it, use VMWare which also has accelerated 3D graphics so you can enjoy it fully.

for me its diablo 2

Honestly I've spent hours playing Ikaruga, DoDonPachi and Gradius V, all of which can be beaten in under 30 minutes. Beating them with a single proverbial quarter (three lives) can take months. (DoDonPachi and Gradius V can easily be emulated and Ikaruga can be purchased through xbox live.)

I also really like Crysis because there are millions of ways to beat the single player campaign and tons of mods. Just Cause 2 has an immense single player campaign that is augmented by the same "running around spree" features that the GTA games have. I also play lots of BF2 COOP and UT2k4 singleplayer because there are lots of mods and it's fun to whoop the computer's ass.

ever considered pro evo or fifa

single player is great and even better vs a friend

no game is played the same
so replay value is great

Quake 4. Clocked that sooooooo many times.

bioshock
half life
mass effect
zelda

For me its Resident Evil 1,2 and 3 as well as FFVII, FFVIII, FFVIX and FFX

There are plenty others for me but too many to name:toast:

Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 for me seems to be most fun replay value i have played in awhile,Mass Effect series has great replay value too.

Oblivion! Hands down! Replayed that game like 20+ times! I'm not the kind of person to replay games either but with oblivion adding new mods (or even if you don't) its just a different experience each time, especially when you make new classes.

The problem is once you have done a campaign or a stoymode youve done it, another problem is how long can a game keep you engaged.; for example if you play the same game for weeks it kinda drags a bit.

  • FIFA and Pro Evo have good replay value as the matches are never the same, Madden i guess is similar.
  • L4D is another good one with friends.
  • Oblivion and Fallout 3/New Vegas.
  • The Witcher EE takes a while to get into but its worth it, long game too.
  • Dragon Age another good RPG thats long and you can even replay as different characters.
  • The Sims 3 is decent untill you play it so much you get so bored of it and the fact all Sims titles have silly amounts of expansions.
  • Ground Control 2 while kinda old is great for a playthrough with its exciting storyline.
  • Golden oldie for me Swat 3/Swat 4 both excelent FPS that require a bit of strategy to take on the missions you get as a SWAT Team member.
  • Half Life series is great, lots of games to keep you entertained.
  • Empire Total War
  • Civ 5

Heroes III, Starcraft, Deus Ex, Warcraft 2-3, Europa Universalis.. The list goes on.

If you liked the GTA series, try Just Cause 2. There are tons of gameplay hours in it.

most of the games you guys named have no replay value what so ever!!!! example bioshock, what replay value that game has?......NONE-same story, same characters, same coridors, same guns, same powers-game has NO REPLAY VALUE. but for example left 4 dead 1&2 you get massive replay value.

I third the FIFA series. There is NO sports game out there that can match it, not even other football (soccer) games. So much to do, but prepared to be frustrated because the AI is actually decent.

Civilization V, Rome: Total War, Empire: Total War are all great for the PC.

Super agree with that!!! I should have been playing Oblivion up to today but the Uber Modding I did broke my game and Im too lazy to fix it.

soooooooooooo true... well I think I've played all of them except for FIFA.

I'll try FIFA... :D

Haven't played New Vegas yet. I have this game on my Computer and started it until the adjusting your SKILLS section, at the very start of the game. and I haven't continued playing it since. maybe because I'm done with the Fallout series, The old graphics/engine, or the hunger for TESV.

A couple that haven't been posted are Torchlight and Borderlands. The first is like an updated D2, the second is fairly unique and one of my favorite games. It should be noted that Borderlands is single- OR multi-player, and I always like my games with a pal or two. Four different classes, you do it all twice with the built in second playthrough, and there are four official add-ons out for it already, and quite a few community mods. General Knoxx is the best official add-on I've seen for anything. Zombie Island is worth it for sure, as well as The Robot Revolution. Lots of fun, insanely funny. The game's everywhere online, so if you like to download games (say, from steam), that's an option.

Fallout 3 is worth the buy as well, just as good as oblivion, and with arguably better mods. It should be cheap with the release of New Vegas, and it will still beat it until the modding community is given a little more time.

mate everyone in there knows very well about your mentioned games, no need to tell about game mechanics.

Resident Evil 1,2 and 3

Maan I loved those so much...I remember that in Resident Evil 2 you could get bonuses for finishing the game ASAP and then finishing the game without a single save..soo much fun and nerves :D
by the way,are you playing Resident Evil 5?Maan I dont know if Im doing something wrong, but I cant get pass by the very first boss fight in the game...please give some advice, the game is graphically very nice and it did receive good critics score..I also got got it free with my GTX 480
