You've got until Dec. 21 to enter.

Maybe someone in the community will be chosen so we can get a sneak peek into the Chrome OS :toast:

WTF... you can choose a different country, but you still HAVE to choose a US state??

My application is in.

Can I install a non google OS. I think the cloud is a dumb idea. If I wanted a mainframe. I'd build my own private mainframe.

No, you have to use the ChromeOS. And if you don't like it, don't get it.

I just set my state as Alabama and my country as the UK. I figure someone at Google will be smart enough to work it out.

Put in my app, if I get this I'll definately post up some feed back! :)

I requested three for work. I need to see these before somebody asks if they can put one on our network anyway... :shadedshu

Sent in my application.:)

Hope i can try one.

Apps in... would be nice to have one for when I deploy.

I would gladly pay their shipping to outside the US if that's what holding them back.... :ohwell:

I've submitted my app... I have a feeling I have better luck getting one of these than getting a job here in town.

I submitted my app as well. I made the case for using it at a university, as well as developing in the field of computer science. If I do get one, I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures, etc.

Yes thats what I really want. All my data and programs on a google server. Sounds like a great idea.

Its probably safer there than on your own hard drive. And again, if you don't like it, don't use it. No point in trolling about something just because you won't use it.

Yeah again, the cloud is a clever idea. We are moving away from privacy concerns to "my whole life was lost" concerns. People at this point in time are switching their lives to technology. If their hard drive crashes, so does part of their life. Imagine in 10 years. You have family photos, videos, medical records, everything electronic. Now imagine we had no cloud, and a hard drive fails. You are fucked, your life is a mess. With the cloud, even if 1 drive goes down, 100 more back up your stuff. There is no way for you to lose info. The cloud is the future, privacy is not. Expect eye scanners or something similar for access to the cloud so people cannot hack your data.

60,000 of these were shipped to Google, so chances aren't completely horrendous on getting one. Got my app in a few days ago.

I already got one! Yall silly HA HA HA

Got mine, I hope I'll be able to use it for school and stuff. I'll definitely do a review/video/demo thing for good ole TPU. :toast:

So if you live in the United States, are at least 18 years old, and would like to be considered for our small Pilot program, please fill this out.

Meh. :(

So if you get one, is it yours to keep forever?

most likely yes, but these will come with conditions, like you can't sell it on ebay and you have to provide blank amount of feedback and you will use it blank hours a week blah blah blah you get the idea;)

Well to me that seems like a ton of money spent beta testing the OS. Why not just put a RC out like M$ did for Win7?
