guys.. sorry if i post in the wrong subforum..

i have a question about my gtx 460, actually my whole rig..

my rig is

phenom 965 be c3
palit gtx 460 sonic oc 800/100
cougar 550 watt
aoc e940sw 18" reso 1366x768

when i was playing assassin's creed 1 for 10-15 minutes.. my driver was 260.89

i got no signal.. but i knew that my procie and video card is still runing from the fan noise..

then i force shutdown my rig, and quickly turn it on.. then its still the same.. my monitor got no signal..

i waited for few minutes and i turned it on again.. then it worked, my monitor got the signal again..

i tested in furmark for 10 minutes, i got 83 celcius at most.. so it wasnt overheat.. and i didnt see any artifact

i asked my friends they said update ur driver, so i updated my driver into 260.99 and i also turned the osd monitor from msi afterburner to monitor my video card temperature..

then i played assassin's creed without any problem..

then i installed the last remnant.. now with the driver 260.99

but, when i was playing for like 20 minutes.. it happened again.. the no signal problem..

i tried again to do furmark test, still got the same result, no artifact, temperature at 83-85 at most,

i also noticed that when i was playing games, my video card will not go beyond 64 celcius.. that means it was overheat problem..

and when i did furmark test, when it stressed my video card up to 83 celcius at most for 10 minutes i didnt get no signal problem.. that means my psu was working well..

because furmark test is harder than playing games right?

so is this problem coming from my video card palit gtx 460, my monitor, or my psu?

thanks for the comments and insights :)

change drivers to another set, remove all overclocks and set voltages to stock or auto

can u recommend good version of driver?

isnt 800/100 just a slight overclock? cant my video card handle it?

i didnt change any voltage when i overclocked this video card..

well you can try the beta 265.35 drivers, even though it is slight overclock, try it stock for now, you are probabily not gaining much with that speed anyway

its also possible your power supply is failing and causing the system to lock up.

cougar sounds like a cheap generic brand to me.

cougar is a very decent brand, basically HEC (which i know is crap) but with high quality Caps and components and MUCH better reliability

okay i'll try that not to overclock it..

if anything happens i'll keep this thread updated :)

try about 10 percent first, the you could go up little by little
for oc theres no guarantee that you can have the same thing like the other, some may higher or may lower depends on the hardware, the technique and your luck :toast:
