Battlefield 3 To Duke It Out With Modern Warfare 3 For Supremacy

I love DICE PERIOD.

"we really focus on creating our own game and making the best that we can......"
They focus and really make a game, not trying to bank on everybody

60$-40$ a piece. I'm 1 person that has personally payed for at least a copy off the games in the above screen shots. I regret it, yes there are deference's in the screen shots but its pretty much the same.......

I got COD4 about 6 months after launch for 15$ from a friend. I ended up loosing the key and paying 10$ for a new key.

so u paid almost full price for it

I honestly don't see how these games are even related. I doubt there's many people out there who have to decide between one game or the other. If they want both, they'll get both. Gameplay is very different between the two. CoD Vs. Battlefield is nothing but a made up/manufactured bunch of bull to get people to buy more crap. I wonder how this is news across so many different websites, when this is exactly what DICE and .. whoever makes MW3 now want. That's all, I'm not giving this thread another thought.

Good day.:)

You're 100% correct, these games should not be compared, the only real thing they have in common is they are both FPS. CoD is more of a console "arcade" shooter, where as Battlefield is more of PC tactical shooter.

However, they are just as much compared by the end users as they are news and reviews online. They might be completely different "styles" of FPS, but they are the two dominate modern retail FPS out there.

They both also represent a very hot topic in gaming these days, and that's "console vs PC".

Consoles are easier and cheaper to develop for, yet they are over 6 years behind PC technology. PC games cost more to develop for current technology and the end user has to spend more to make sure they have the current hardware to run the game. So with that logic in mind, the "console port" has taken over the PC gaming market.

So now we have this war between the two platforms. Real PC gamers are sick of getting ripped off, myself being one of them. So I think this constant comparison between these two series is also a direct reflection of this platform debate. Since you may notice that even though gameplay is indeed brought up a lot in these comparisons (even though like you said, it should not be, since they are indeed different games), technology is also brought up more often than not, from the PC gamers that is.

That's just my thoughts on the subject. :)

Oh, and I happen to know a lot of people that are on the fence on what game to get. They like both series, but either can't afford both, or in the cases I know of personally, are sick of the same old same old from CoD and want something new. I am not on this fence. I will not touch MW3, I have grown to dislike most all console ports in any respect, and grown to hate CoD for what Activision has done to what was once a great series. I built my current system for Battlefield 3, so this was a decision I made a long time ago already. hah

why are people arguing?? really? these are both first person shoots, but, they play completely different.. they are more or less two completely different games. Better yet, can't decide on one? PLAY BOTH!...

Afraid that's never going to happen, and origin is crap make sure to get a physical copy.

Origin is still required to play Battlefield 3, no matter how you obtain your copy, just as Steam is required for some games.

Origin is not bad at all. It uses less resource than Steam (not that this should be a concern if you're playing BF3. You should have a PC capable of it.), it's a significant improvement over EA Downloader and EA Link, provides EA with better DRM (blame the pirates, not the publisher), it also provides a means to help ban hack users. Just like Steam, you can have your ID banned and product keys deactivated.

I am not sure why people are so dead set against Origin. I guess it's to be expected, the same thing happened when Steam first started.
