OCZ decided to work with the famous gamer Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel to develop a high-end PSU that will meet the specific needs of all gamers in performance, stability and ease of installation. The outcome was the Fatal1ty series 1000W PSU which differs from the rest of the bunch mainly because it features individually sleeved cables.

Thank you for the well detailed review.

TPU appears to have a new rating system. Could you please indicate what the color code is, with regards to the rating. (appears blue, is it meant to be a silver rating?)

Also, could TPU introduce a new way to view pictures, other than one at a time.

Other tech sites have a photo library at the end so you can see a high def slide show in full screen. Or when you roll over the picture with the mouse you are able to view full/large screen.
These are suggetions that first come to mind and possibly there is a better approach.

I like the full scale pictures but hate to click on each one individually.

Another excellent review crmaris! This one seem's more detailed, have you made change's/inclusion's to your method's? Also noticed this unit come's with an MOV :)

From what i can see in the pic's the board look's kinda flimsy and some of the workmanship is so - so, hopefully OCZ is watching and addresses these issues. We are afterall talking about a $240 + PSU. I like the included hard wired connection's, think it was a good choice and should help with cable management but look's like they are lacking a grommet where the cable's pass through the case.

crmaris would you say that this unit is comparable to OCZ's zx series? I would think the zx to be the better buy in term's of price/performance

Cheers!

there is no "new" rating system. we simply updated the visual appearance of our award badges to look more modern, work better in print, using vector graphics, etc.
the color is just to distinguish them better.

i'll look into using the lightbox from our news section for reviews

Officially ZX series is the flagship series. However ZX uses Teapo caps all over while this one uses only Nippons. Now thw ZXs offer higher price/performance ratios since this one's price is highly increased due to indy-sleeved cables.

The Teapo cap's are that bad? The zx unit reviewed well in your test's and showed quite decent charecteristic's IMHO. truth be told i have never heard of Teapo cap's before :o

Teapos are good but Japan made caps tend to last longer.
