So 25,000 ฿ = 806 $

The gtx 680 and hd 7970 still cost around 500-600$ where I live if you buy them new from stores, so go figure what the price for the R9-290x would be...

£430 ($696) from Overclockers UK while Scan are gouging at £515 ($833). Those prices include taxes. Those taxes pay for things we take for granted that other placers might not have.

None in Czech republic yet, it seems :D

You have some examples, just out of interest?

Those taxes pay for MP's BMW's and extra houses.

You forgot that VAT and import duty also pay the wages of our esteemed public sector workers (although MP's are included within that), they do pay for the excellent roads we have, you know, the 6 without huge pot holes, and of course in the next few years it will be paying for a high speed railway and a Nuclear Power Plant, by which time of course 90% of the population won't have enough money to pay their utility bills or take a high speed train further than the bottom of their garden, only they won't have a garden because by then they will be in rented accomodation because their house was repossesed. :D

On a serious note though, the things that are really important to me....health, education, my state pensions are pretty much being paid for by me though through the £1200 tax and national insurance the government takes off me each month

Apologies to OP for off topic!

No pre-order prices yet here in phils. but it's worth noting, the Sapphire Dual-X R9-280x cost 14,300 pesos here equivalent to around $330.

i was going to say CC has been turning into FS/TD for years now, & that we still have plenty of other options (not to mention different model cards), but....

sapphire is the only card at CC & NCIX right now, memoryexpress has an HIS for $609, TD has nothing found, neweggCA is $599.... plus 13% ontario tax

:shadedshu

let's just wait a while until the different cards are in stock

CZ
650 to 700$
