Feedback & Bug Reports for new Forums

everything is grey. the searchbox background is white. your monitors are set too bright, which is why you get a headache after working for a while

I have my monitor properly calibrated and I do see it uses a light shade of grey. But I too believe it is just too bright. I would love if it would either a) be a lil' bit more darker w/ more contrast between the background and [all the light-blue stuff], b) inverted brightness of the color scheme (which in the end would sum up into "white text on a dark background"), or c) at least more contrast between the background and [all the light-blue stuff]
Well, that is just my suggestion and thus this applies greatly ('cept s/your/my/)

ALSO, if I set to use the rich text editor by default, I do see "buttons" to go between the rich text and plain text editors. But if I set to NOT use the rich text editor by default, I don't have any way to switch to the rich text editor if I need it - the "button" is no longer there. I do prefer to use the plain text one, but I sometimes need to hop to the rich text one in order to add smileys (as I did not memorize all of them yet). So I would love it if there would be a way to pop into the rich text editor when having the plain text one by default. If it is not too much of a problem to do, of course :)

I'm calibrated at work and at home (IPS) and see it is a very very light grey, but also agree it is still too bright compared to the very very light blue everything else. It looks fine on my HTC DNA, but not on any PC.

I definitely suggest having a dark theme one can select in the former 'user cp' once you get the functionality bugs worked out. :)

there is a small link below the editor to switch back

Erm, no. If I switch to the plain text editor from the rich text editor, yes, there is a link "button" to go back - do see it, I am not blind.

But if I have rich text editor disabled by default, so it would start in the plain text editor by default, i.e.

In that case, it is missing and I can't go to rich text mode if I need to:

@Vinska I think what it means is to completely disable WYSIWYG, as in the libraries for it don't even get loaded. So I suspect the option toggles it on and off and not what the default is. It simply doesn't use it if it can't. I don't think this is a bug.

Yeah, that's what I thought, too.
So I should rephrase: "can we get a way to insta-jump to the plain-text mode by default without disabling rich-text?"

Then darker shades of grey should be considered or possibly include as options for registered members?

I currently use f.lux http://justgetflux.com/and highly recommend to those who are in front of a computer monitor extensively.

@W1zzard I don't having any issues reading the forums. With that being said a slightly bolder font would fix any issues these other guys are having.

For example I bet they can read this better.

... to be on topic, testing image inserting, works great :D and, incidentally, if the background of this image is blending with background of the page - monitor is set up too bright

changed style for the OP badge

LOL now OP looks pimp.

Much better

How about a News link next to new posts ?..

I know you're working on bugs and such, but is there any plans to add back the Multi-Quote button? I loved that thing!

Also, what about a direct link to "Recent Posts" in the header next to "New Posts". I prefer just to go directly to "Recent Posts" like the old forum. Now it is an extra click to get there.

Actually he did re-impliment this its just not enabled by default you have to go in your CP under "preferences" its called "Select Quote Feature:"

the reply button is also working like multiquote. Just click all the necessary reply buttons and than be surprised at the bottom of the page (reply field).

it works!

The PM notifications no longer show up while you're on the main TPU site, just letting you know. I don't know if it's just me but my watched threads thing isn't updating with new threads, and would it be possible to bring back the thing at the top that shows new threads, I really liked that thing. Still getting used to the new layout.

That is a different feature all together, I'm actually glad that feature can be turned off now, it is annoying as heck.

That's awesome! But every time I hit reply it scrolls all the way down to the bottom of the page, so I have to scroll back up to continue reading or hit reply on more posts. That is kind of annoying, but I can live with it.

Okay, i don't understand the "Watched Threads" and "New Threads" I post soothing and its not there?

After you view a thread it won't show up in those lists if there aren't any new posts.

In Watched Threads scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click on "Show All Watched Threads" and it will show all the threads including the the ones with no new posts.

In "New Posts" at the top click on "Recent Posts" and it will show all the posts including those with no new posts since you read the thread.
