Feedback & Bug Reports for new Forums

W1zzard could you check the recent posts, unless it's me I don't get the new posts working like the old tpu showed

Yeah. Threads I've already read are still showing up as having new posts.

works for me I think. it's a bit different than vbulletin because it actually seems to track threads you've read, whereas vbulletin just compared to a timestamp (I think).

anyone else having issues with thread read state?

Back to the color issue:
could you make the white background and light blue accents a few shades darker? Just a bit more contrast and less fatigue on the eyes...
yeah, its not comfortable to read like stare on spotlight, i like the old theme and it looks like not mobile version friendly

I think having it like the two mockups I made would help a lot, however would require more extensive work to get it to look intergrated with the TPU homepage.

Problem 1: Tables are not working.

Problem 2: The following error occurred:
Please enter a message with no more than 5 pieces of media

I get this error when trying to edit a thread in the clubhouse where I (obviously) have more than 5 links to YouTube videos.

should I turn it on for all users? except those who recently changed it to off? seems like a useful feature that won't interfere with most people's browsing behaviour

I would. It ultimately works better than the old quoting function where you'd have to manually delete the parts you aren't replying too. Also I think it might be nice if the thanks and reply buttons stuck to the bottom of the post box instead of the bottom of the sig. Same with "report," well maybe. Idk

Like a old pair of slippers or boots, one does get comfortable with things like the forum But I have to say, after using this new look, I like it... a lot.
Thanks Wiz for your hard work and dedication to the site.

Now about the warnings and infractions thing, hey, I had a infraction on the old site and never even got a warning.
NOW.... I can't even find it anymore.
I was sort of proud of it, being my first one ever.
Crap, I was going to try and compete with the MM and beat him at his own game just for fun.
Now I have to start all over?
OMG

o_O :lovetpu:
I can give you some infractions (warnings) if ya want...
It would be almost next to impossible to catch up with MM though:)

Looks much better now than it used to though. Going from the front page to the forums was like stepping through a time machine.

Sure does!

Enabled some performance improvements and ways to reduce network traffic. roughly 20 KB now to load a thread (if it has no images), old forum was twice as much

Nice enhancement:toast:

Those are some nice stats :Y

I just got a HTTP 502 Bad Gateway from NGINX. I'm assuming you're messing with production again, @W1zzard .

I no likie. I liked the old look! Like the homepage, its too much white

I really enjoy the new forum software. A lot of the features make looking for interesting topics much easier. I also really like the more modern look. However, I still think it is too bright. For instance, I would make the border containing each individual post darker so that each thread stands out a bit more from the page. Also, the inside box which has the very light color blue fill could use a bit of darkening.

you should know me better than that. one of the main reasons against vbulletin 5 was that is requires javascript, it will simply not work without. xenforo works just fine without js and is completely usable (just like tpu). and it's fast (just like tpu)

keep your suggestions coming, even if they are small ones. xenforo supports plugins/customization very well, too

Oh sorry I didn't mean it like that, I guess you're right, I am here a long time and It never annoyed me. The only thing I had since some years ago is the ability, per account, to choose an option to go directly into full editor.

But the quick edit supports some of the characer customization features so ... but still sometimes I just need to full editor to jump into and there is no way to jump directly into it, the quick edit is always present.

@RuskiSnajper : You can get a standalone editor if you click the "More Options..." button in the quick editor. In all honesty though, the standalone editor is really just as powerful as the quick reply one, just with a little less room to write.

I see the online indicator on our avatars is larger now- much better imo :toast:

Agreed, grey is better than white.
everything is grey. the searchbox background is white. your monitors are set too bright, which is why you get a headache after working for a while
