A thread about the highest recorded temps your computer has ever gotten. This is more of a "for fun" than a "LOOK AT WHAT I JUST KILLED" thread.

Monitoring program bugs are also welcome.

I put my 290X to 98c and the pc shut down; surprising, because my GTX480 would go over 100c.

had my i5 hit 85c with ibt on air. so i said f it and changed to water. that got it to 75c so i modded the loop now it gets to 65c. and i have a haf 922 arriving today also a 240 rad (should be here in the next few days or even today if im lucky)
so i will then have 2x 120 and a 240 in a haf 922..
I dont like a hot cpu..

im happy with 65c in ibt to be fair. now its a matter of increse rad area so i can keep that temps with lowest possible fan speeds. (aiming for 10-20% fan speed 24/7 even with ibt running)
85c is not something i like to see.

Unless it's a mobile cpu in a laptop, i have seen MSI gaming laptops on youtube running 94c while gaming! Ouch! Mine runs 75 max while gaming on my Asus G750 ROG laptop.

Starcraft will take my laptop cpu to 100c, which doesn't bother me at all because this is the third hp laptop I've had the misfortune of owning and it's actually the coolest

97°C on my laptop. It was needing a cleaning for a while, and it easily reached throttle point.

115°C on a passively cooled Radeon HD 3850, I think. Wanted to see when it throttled. It was surprisingly hard to get it there though, as when it hit 108°C, the CPU fan would spin up to full speed, and push air onto the heatsink of the GPU and cool it to around 100°C. :p

Complete opposite story for me. I recently side/upgraded my 2600k to a 3770k which I got brand new for $50 plust a traded item. Anyway, even after probably 50 builds, I made a rookie mistake. I happened to look at fan speed for the cpu, and it said "Zero" (0). I thought it odd, and opened my rig up. You guessed it...I forgot to hook up cpu fan of the CNPS-9900 Max!

Anyway, despite using it for a week, the temps never went above the 40's and 50's under load, and idles were in the 30's. I figure myself lucky, but glad that 1) my case is so well-ventilated, and 2) that heatsink is so good! Now, everything runs about 5 degrees C cooler with the fan.

I've hit the Tj max on my 4770k numerous times. Probably the hottest piece of hardware I've ever had. Mind you I had a pretty crappy GTX470 couple years back.

I had a Pentium 4 inside a Shuttle XPC back between 2004-2005 and it reached 90-100*C regularly. Those Shuttle small form factor PCs used a heat pipe system. When the case was shifted, the heat pipe would lever off the top of the socket and create a gap in the thermal paste.
I used to play BF2 on it and it started getting slower and slower.
In 2006 I sold the Shuttle and put the P4 in a desktop, but the chip never really worked quite right after that. It would generate errors in minutes at stock clocks. Idk what happened to it.

My old 560 Ti would routinely hit 100c; that's the hottest I've ever had anything get (that I've monitored anyways; I never bother monitoring my HTPC or laptops, just my main desktop and servers)

i think i hit 110 gpu & 120 VRM on my 4870x2 when i accidentally left it on manual idle fan speed while resident evil 5 benchmark was running

after a minute, the card suddenly went to 100% fan speed, so it (or the driver) had some protection built in

my 570m hit 97 several times & the 2670qm 95ish also several times... summer+demand+a little dust = ouch

A thread about the highest recorded temps your computer has ever gotten. This is more of a "for fun" than a "LOOK AT WHAT I JUST KILLED" thread.

Monitoring program bugs are also welcome.
My ASUS G75 has never exceeded 65-70c...Though aluminum body so it feels hot as fuck. Though my old computer topped out at 110 until i got new thermal paste
