Could someone please repeat all the pro and con arguments for GTX 970 again? Because I totally wasn't able to read the previous pages.

Thanks!

Pro's:
- Cost Effective/Great bang for your buck
- Low power consumption
- Is tremendous at 1080 and good at 1440 (not a 4K gaming card)
- Can go up to 3 way SLI (2 way is the sweet spot for this card)

Con's:
- Potential for coil whine (common in Maxwell)
- 3.5 vs 4 GB (Will only really show it's head if you run at res's like 4K and turn everything UP. And even then, it seems like it will only be certain games (AC)) 3.5 / 4GB is a good amount of RAM for 1080P.

Looks cool in your System Specs too. j/k

I would also add to what Cybrnook2002 posted that My MSI 970 Gaming runs cool and quiet even under the factory preset fan curve. I keep mine at 60-65 degrees even under load. It overclocks well if you're into that. I haven't run into any VRAM issues on 1440p with highest settings and 2X AA but I haven't played any games from 2013, 2014 or this year. It was a toss up between the MSI and the Asus Strix for me. They are both great cards with great coolers. It just came down to looks in the end and I really liked the way the MSI card looked.

If you want to promote bait and switch, stonewalling, and other forms of bad business then, by all means, go by the glib responses your absurd post is likely to generate.

Otherwise read the rest of the posts.

Much like FB, we need a thumbs down in addition to the thanks button.

I'd also be mad if I'd switched from a 970 to a 290X and found it ran slower a lot of the time too.

But hey 4GB means 4GB.

I be mad at the fact of doing some thing so silly, don't matter if it was from a 970 to a 290X or 290X to a 970, time to punch ya self in the face maybe that wake ya up HA.

Slippery slope fallacy, I like it. Buzzwords too, you'd make a great sales representative.

People who purchased the card knew full well what kind of performance to expect. While I agree that it's a deplorable business practice that will have ramifications, you're blowing this far out of proportion.

gods this thread is still going ?
somebody kill it with fire
you people are clueless as hell nvidia has been doing this type of memory split since the fucking GTX 580
shut
the
fuck
up
about
it

??LOL..I'm old, I don't follow so well. What do you mean?

Missed this HAHA to much ED. Anyways i was on about games that would take you over the 3.5GB mark.

I mention having a website and get a 6 month ban yet this thread exists...

That's called a lie of omission. The card has 4 GB of VRAM but not 4 GB of 224 GB/s VRAM. Hence, the lie of omission.

The difference my friend is lie's of omission are not lies in a a legal context. Maybe you should make some signs and protest this somewhere other than GPU land, like outside congress or something. It's how our country operates.

Is there some context to this? You're making me paranoid about posting my website now... lol.

OH HI SHELDON!

Sarcasm, learn to recognize it, this already was a thread necro in the first place. I loved how you all jumped on.

Even I have been overcome by the pain that this thread brings, to the point I can take no more, I think everyone is aware of the issues, talking's done.... Thread closed but still around as a point of reference........ thank you.
