Sup crew! me and my weird posts strikes back !


I would like to know your screen resolution and why are you sitting there to game ! also knowing your video card in use at the moment may help!
May help to know and get something like a knowledge source here about what here in tpu is the most used and the reasons why !

here is my data!

Resolution: 1920x1280 [1080P]
Video Card: EVGA GTX 680 SuperSuperclocked @ factory settings
Monitor: LG flatron 22" 1080P [1920x1280]

Why: I like so much 22" or max 24" screens, done feel the need to spend moar and moar money getting 1440 or beyond resolutions for gaming, also the money is a limitation, on my country computer parts can be expensive and most of them may be imported so taxes could kill me … also the fact that 1080 can be taken by decent or medium range video cards such the old GTX 760 or the current 680 is awesome, if I would upgrade my video card will be for a GTX 970 and also someday I'll like to try out 3ple display still on 1080p,

My main display is a 2560.1440 and it's great. Wife's PC has a 1920.1080 monitor and there's such a difference between the resolutions; I can only imagine the awesomeness of 4k

4k is my next step, hopefully sooner rather than later.

i do understand that 4K shall be awesome, but what justifies the worth and that much you will spend for decent FPS or stability over the new resolution?
there is a pretty penny what are you going to invest there!

2560x1440p 27 inch and I love it! I'm more than content with this monitor for a few years and then go 4K.

@peche you might want to add the widescreen 1080p and 1440p to the poll for better accuracy. 2560x1080 and 3440x1440. They are getting more popular and I bet there are a few members here running them.

i won this one a giveaway here... i had a GTx 760 that is now on my mon/ home computer!
GTX 680 is pretty fast on some games or features compared to 760 but ironically is a little weak on CS:GO on stock settings.. then when i do a little overclock it beat the old card! brave card !

Screen: Yamasaki 301 Sparta 30" S-IPS (say what you will about the lack of features of the cheaper South Korean brands, the displays themselves are quite nice unless your use demands perfect color reproduction, etc)

Why: I like to site a bit further back from the screen while leaning back in my chair, so bigger screen size is nice. The higher resolution was just me spoiling myself (I am a sucker for pretty, high-res graphics) - I wouldn't have been able to justify it if I hadn't got such a good deal on the screen.

Screen: Dell ultrasharp 3008WFP

Why: Got the 3008WFP as a replacement from dell for a failing 2407WFP (the power button was iffy). kept it as 30" is relay nice to use, next screen will be a bigger one (27" is in my mind a downgrade, even if its 4K)

Why: 2560*1600 is very close to literally 4 of my 15.6" 1368*768 laptop screens, which was great for doing college assignments.

Well I still use a 24" 1920x1080 screen and I also have a 1366x768 monitor hooked up to my older pc

1440p with GTX970 but i really want to try a 1080p 144Hz monitor so i could finally decide between IPS and resolution vs TN and fluidity.
Idealy i would keep my 1440p monitor in portrait mode and a 1080p 144Hz for gaming next to it. But that would require me winning the lottery.

Depending on the game, if surround can run smoothly, I will do it but, I won't drop the resolution below native to make it run as I like my image quality intact. Farcry 4 and Elite Dangerous run smoothly but, The Witcher 3 doesn't, in which case I stick with a single display at 1080p. I picked other as there isn't an option for surround but, I guess 1080p is partially applicable.

Just "recently'' picked up a HD6770 ,upgraded from Radeon HD6450, driving a Fujitsu B17ECO at 1280times1024pixels(max native)set to 1280times960 pixels.
