GTX 760 damaged by gaming 10 hours per day at 80° ?

I have bought my Gainward GTX 760 2GB in November 2015.

As everybody knows, a gtx 760 has gpu boost 2.0 and normal operating temp is 80C in full load and max boost. (1097.4 mhz core)

*** I play with v-sync off,and my card is 99% load, 80°C , and 1097.4 mhz in every game. ***

I NEVER use msi afterburner or anything except nvidia drivers and gpu-z.

I did quite a lot of gaming and I am afraid I have damaged it greatly.

In December: Assassins Creed Unity almost every day 10-16 hours.
Two or more times 20 hours.

2016
In January: Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag almost every day 10-16 hours.
Two or more times 20 hours.

In February: Assassins Creed Syndicate first day 26 hours, then 30 hours with one pause for eating.
Other days 5-8 hours every day.

In March: from 3rd to 26th Shadow of Mordor 10-12 hours.

So should I consider it dead and stop gaming so at least I can see the desktop?

I ran Unigine Heaven and Valley Benchmarks today 20 min loops an no problems. But that doesn't mean it wont die or get artifacts if i keep gaming.

Gaming for long periods shouldnt damage your pc, as long as its properly ventilated.are your ambient temp high? If so ,or if you game 92%of each day, id invest i some good fans,or water blocks

For free, you could underclock your gpu to avoid high temps. My 970 never reaches 80....i set the fan to hold it beliw 70 myselfadmittedly i dont have time to game 20 hours a day tho, i might game 1 hr per week,if that

are u in the US? or elsewhere? what types of stores do you have @ your disposal?

80c is cool for a video card at load, there is nothing to worry about but maybe for your own health you should cut down on the 20 hour gaming sessions.

Well I don't know. Thats why I am here. Today in the morning I saw a few trapsparent artifacts on the hairline of just one of the Uruk captains in Mordor. I have an extreme eye for detail,so I noticed it,other uruks are ok. I am sure mos people wouldn't see them,as they are in milimeters.

is this serious? or a troll. im leaning to the former, but im open to the fact it could be the latter. either way, i had assumed you were actually experiencing a problem, and took time to try and help you out. id say wait until your mother can see the artifacts.

If you see artifacts, don't worry they're just sleep deprivation or dehydration induced hallucinations.

One small weird line on one ork in one game? Yeah, don't worry about it.

Doc Sasqui may be on to something; I wouldn't worry too much about the video card though if the issue is "a few transparent artifacts on the hairline"

As others said 80°C is not a problem but why not enable V-Sync? If your screen can only output 60fps there's no point in rendering 100fps.
Enable V-Sync = Load go down = Temperature go down

OP's first post doesn't jive with the click bait thread title.

But if not trolling ... (always borderline with the new posters ...)

If you are going to run your card hard in your opinion, then use MSI AB to lower the gpu/vram clocks a little, and pump the fan up a little. You seemed worried, so just do it.

Thanks I am going to do that.

NO, I AM NO TROLLING !

I have the right to be worried because I realized I was working the card like mad.

I had a Gainward GTX 570 GLH and I was working it similarly, not several months but from September 2014 to October 2015- until a few transpatent artifacts appeared in only one corner in Crysis 3,and a few weeks later my screen was covered in purple pink and green artifacts-squares-as soon as I would stard a game and the red beauty would shut down.

Thats why I git so scared amd my hands were shaking. I will cut down on the sessions and play only 2 hours every 2 days from now on.

It's a tiny little different shaded square.

Honestly, with just one, I'd say it's a game imperfection.

OP, your card is designed to play games, which is what you're doing. And 80 is fine, especially since you don't have Afterburner or Precision installed. My advice, install one of those just to use to set up an 8 point fan curve. You should likely never reach 80 again.

To be honest, this can be driver or game it self...

If you get something like this, I would worry. Somtimes when I play TESO, I get some small pixel flashing somewhere, but it already did it with another GPU. Same in BF4. There can be bug in games or imperfection. I've seen this all my life while playing games.

I ran F@H my with R9 290, 24/7 during 2 or 3 weeks, that 100% GPU load for at least 336hrs in a row. Not during 2 or 3 months, but anyway, if your card dies, just RMA. There is warranty on it. Don'T worry about that.

80% is fine. my R9 290 runs 75C, fans goes to 80%. never had any issue in a year and half.

Thanks everyone. How do I set up a 8 point fan curve in Afterburner, what if I accidentally overclock the card? Is there a guide? I never seen or used MSI AB.

By the way whatdoes OP mean. Why am I OP?

"OP" is for original poster. It's your thread, so your the OP.

You don't have to set up 8 points, it's just what I prefer. You can make it 6 or 5 or 4, whatever suits you.

First download Afterburner and install it. Then we'll guide you in setting up fan curve. Don't worry, you can't accidentally overclock tje card.

Uh, play games and see how hot it gets.
What do you mean? Its 35 idle and always 80c in my games,it just always boosts to 1097 mhz core.

But "rtwjunkie" said he or someone else here will help me set up a 6 point fan curve in MSI Afterburner.

Open settings (the gear symbol), click on Fan Control (2nd tab), and set it up according to your preference. Test it out afterwards in game and see how hot it gets and how loud it gets, and you can set it to how you like it from there.
