Eh, 18 hours. That's like 3 freaking years in internet time!

You sir have too much free time. For starters, try working at greedy corporation and if that doesn't suck the years out of your life fast enough, go ahead and have kids. Aaand its gone.

It is cheap to buy a highend graphics card, but its the time I cannot afford.

Why not just play games while waiting? That's what I'm going to do.

I wonder if AMD will have enough cards for the market, or will they have the same problems as Nvidia.

Oh... wait,.... what do I see there?

could someone measure the length of the rx 480 ?
,i've always been using custom sapphire and never ocd , never heard the gpu fan's noise
so if i don't intend on heavy oc-ing , will i hear any kind of noise using the rx 480 stock ?

i have no luck with youtube uploader stucking at 83%

Damn, that's some huge changes and upgrades under the hood. I wonder what else will turn up with Vega...

Wow, just wow. It brings more changes than I thought.

Vega will be very interesting.

And WTF is self aging adapting? I have little background in electronic engineering. This sounds very weird.

In English, potential trouble with overclocking. Same with all these new fancy boost algorithms. :)

Now we have dynamic clock speed scaling over GPU current, VID changing over each boot and self-aging compensation.

E: Transistor performance degrades over time. Leakage current may increase, you may need more voltage to keep GPU stable. My guess is they very slowly ramp up VID in the long run by couple %, or keep it at same if meets certain targets.

Why would you do this? Enables you to sell the chips at much closer to maximum operating point. I predict poor overclocking. ;)

Traded in my NVDA shares for 2000 AMD back in march. AMD is going the right way even if there cards are underpowered vs NVidia. Also the next current gen consoles are on AMD hardware. They are going for market share. The market mostly games on 1080 and RX480 will have the power to do it for a low price. The future is in the APU all of the big console titles will be built around this chip giving AMD advantage moving forward as most game will be built around there hardware.

Source ...

So no one is going to question the fact that the Polaris diagram has 8 64-bit memory controllers? Looks like an edited version of an old Hawaii diagram. The third picture is also from an old Hawaii leak.

This has got to be one of the top five most anticipated cards ever. I don't even need a card and I'm excited and want to buy one!! :-)

My last AMD card was a 6870. I will buy 2 to replace a GTX680&GTX770

Haha me too, even tough im targeting a 1070 (still waiting for stocks to arrive), i also got interested in this one

Evergreen (5950/5970) was out of control in the hype department back in the day...

people were running around chasing their tails for months before that release...

^You speak of their dual GPU variants or the HD 5870 and HD 5850?

mmm, i like the changes done under the hood, solid choices

i cant really wrap my head around this card... still kinda wished it would launch as a single slot solution, oh well
