OFFICIAL Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Discussion)

Extremely kick ass! It gives alot of insight into not only gameplay but also the gameworld and environment itself.

Looking forward to it even more! :)

For some reason i did not like the last one, i just have not been able to play it though which is weird. But yes they are showing that gameplay of for sure which seems pretty much the same as the last with a few changes.

Maybe i will have another crack at it, oddly my wife was not much for it either and she loved the 1st one which was my 3 time around that game.

He's wearing heels.....in the shower......

The better to kick your ass with HAHA!.

But ya looking kinda gay right there lol.

Looking forward to the game release, was very disappointed it got pushed back to where it is now to be released, just hope it doesn't get pushed back again.

The City-Hub Demo is interesting but not really my playing style of hide and seek, so we'll see what can really be done with the game if it is ever actually released?

I just hope these augmentation problems Adam starts out with are not something he is plagued with the entire game like FarCry 2s malaria and gun jamming crap was.

I wonder how morality decisions will affect you in Deus EX: Mankind Divided compared to previous releases?

For example on one play through of the directors cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I was inside the Police Headquarters and things went horribly bad, so fast all you could do was defend yourself or die, it was a truly sickening feeling I remember it well.

Even though these are just games they do have and effect on you, just the fact all could go wrong, and it could violently go bad, is written into the game as an action option.

How many of you have experienced this type of thing and what do you expect from Deus EX: Mankind Divided?

Well, although I invariably try to play a good guy no matter what I play, survival is paramount. This applies to all games, including Deus Ex.

If the police, whose side you're basically on decide to attack me, then all bets are off. I'm goung to get out of there alive and try to repair relations later.

That is exactly how I felt! Right after the, "Oh Crap!, they're shooting me!".

After playing the first mission, I have the greatest compliment for a game....it's FUN!!

ok, I am in Prague now. I'm doing the sneaky sneaky rooftop to rooftop to ledge thing. I feel like I'm playing Dishonored, in a way, so I guess that's a positive!

I loved the 1st one and to me after that they never felt right for some reason, graphics sucked big time in Dishonored although i did find the gamplay much better than the last Deus ex.

Now if the gameplay is more like Dishonored then it might be bothering with later, i still have not bothered finishing the last one i just found it boring which or what ever way you decided to play it.

LOL, one of the most highly rated games ever, an almost perfect example of how to make a game, and you found it boring? (Unless you are speaking of last Deus Ex?) Ok, then, try this: imagine for a moment my compliment for the Deus Ex rooftop movement in that Dishonored context and you feel the same way, and youll see the positive comparison I am making.

The Steam reviews are overwhelming negative thou, especially on mouse input, stuttering graphics and overall extremely poor optimization.
Most of users are complaining that this is one of the worst optimized console ports in the history of PC gaming...

Not seeing any of those issues. Averaging right under 60fps, and everything is smooth, including mouse. This is simply a very demanding game.

Runs and looks good with maxed out settings at 1080p, only mouse is a bit wonky, I had to decrease sensitivity down to 25% to be bearable (could be the pre-rendered frames that I've set to 1 before). I also cocked up hiding behind cover and triggered typhoon twice without needing it because I thought I'm activating silent walking. I'm thinking of playing it again because the checkpoint system didn't save at all. And neither have I. Ugh.

The laggy wonky mouse motion is indeed quite bad. Changing pre-rendered frames did affect it slightly, but it's still incredibly hard to use. Thinking of not playing until they fix it. I want a good experience, not rage inducing because you can't do what you have to do because the mouse has a will of its own...

This must be a random issue, because myself and just as many people haven't had the issue. It's all randomness...poor @INSTG8R couldn't even start the game.

I can now! and yeah turning the mouse down to 25% was fine with me. Thankfully they fixed the Invert-Y too before I got it working too, that would have been a no go for me.

Awesome, I'm glad you got it going! I did the first mission, which is the intro, and now I'm in Prague roaming around. I will say cover is important, in addition to stealth, because death comes very quickly from bullets. SAVE OFTEN!

I got well into the 4th level of the side mission to locate the "evesdroppers." Got stuck not knowing how to gain entry to a very large building without getting shot up by guards, etc. Yes, I'm being vague on purpose for those that haven't played.

I'm still having a blast. Just like HR, there are indeed still multiple ways to accomplish most of the missions. And some go sideways quickly.

I successfully negotiated with a mob boss, then when I went exploring, I ended up running into some of his people where I shouldn't have been. Bullets were exchanged. I ended up wiping out said boss and all his goons. Double points from them! Points for a negotiated solution, and then more points for combat.

Anyone with a 7970 or 280x playing this? I'm starting to think it takes more than what I've got. Many are complaining it's not very well optimized, which is a big part of the reason it's getting only a "Mixed" review rating on Steam, and 6/10 user score average on Metacritic.

I've read a few perf reviews now and I'd say a single 7970 will struggle unless at 1080p on lower settings. It's definitely AMD optimised but it needs Fury X level at 1440p. The only 1440p card at 60+ fps at very high settings looks to be Titan X. I'm sure the DX12 upgrade will boost GCN by a decent margin though.

Ok, I'll bite. a 290 4Gb?

Just saw a YouTube vid of it on a 280x using a High graphics preset, and it ran 42 ave FPS on the in game bench, which micro stuttered a lot, and the graphics didn't even look very good on the gameplay shown after that.

Personally I don't see what all the raves are about, even the gameplay has got some serious problems from what I've read. Many are saying the controls have some problems too.

This is looking a lot like a typical Ubi hyped game, where it's advertised with pre-compressed texture trailers, and ends up being a mediocre looking game with technical problems.

I don't know, I used to have a lot of faith in Eidos, but they seem just mediocre anymore.

Yeah, the last game played well enough, this seems crushing on systems without good reason. Coding (poor coding) strikes again?

Complaints are overrated and overhyped. I've had zero, i repeat zero problems other than trying to figure out settings in the beginning. It plays perfectly.

I'm not just going by complaints. Did you not notice I said I've seen it myself on same GPU as mine and it doesn't look very good to me even at High settings.

I could say the same about fanboy comments, that they're overrated, and that is not an exaggeration.

Just because you don't have issues, that doesn't mean others don't. One would think you'd know that by now. For me, everything seems fine, except mouse movement which is still wonky no matter what I try.

Correct guys, I agree that just because I have no issues doesn't mean others don't. What I do take away from it though, is that it means it is not a game issue, but rather an issue of some people's systems.

Now whether the OS or something in their hardware setup isn't playing nice, I don't know. Alot of the cases I guarrantee people's systems are just not powerful enough to play it. A 280X at high? Come on, I am running at High with some extra details and no MSAA. I have a a 280X and it sits back in it's box. For someone to try and play this game on High with a 280X is asking too much of that card. The game is either going to look great from High on up, OR it's going to have good fps, but that card will not give both.

Others could be bad OS installs. How many normal people are playing on their upgraded W10 system without a fresh install? Nearly all of them would be a fair guess. If it was a game issue, the same issues would be almost completely enjoyed by everyone, yet they aren't. So all I'm saying is alot of these complaints from the general public are by the same people that complain about everything in games, and Steam reviews should have a much less weighted score. The complainers there are almost always overloud.

From what I have read there is a mouse jitter issue that my unscientific guess is maybe 50% of the people. I'm not sure you can really fix something that that isn't accross the board without messing with the people who don't have a problem, since if it was the game, then it would pertain to everybody.

All I'm doing is trying to be the voice of reason and not be so quick to condemn before we know more.

You probably didn't mean it the way it sounded but it does come across a bit like other peoples complaints are invalid since you have no issues.

Eidos will probably do what they can to fix the issues hopefully but this game wants a lot from your GPU for high and ultra settings.

Correct, which is why I tried to provide a more in-depth response this morning.

It's a demanding game on the GPU, no doubt about it.
