Why do you need 380X for video editing? Which application are you using? Video editing is mostly about raw computing power, so more cores the better, plus fast I/O which is what your SSD will cover.

What program would you recommend? Ive heard of Sony Vegas before but that's about it.

Um, well, you are the one who will be editing video, you go with whatever works for you. It's like asking what condom you use

Everyone's got different taste.

But if it's pure or mostly dedicated to video editing, you don't need a powerful GPU. Intel's iGPU will do the job. Like I said, more cores the better. i7 line might be better since it'd allow you to save money for GPU.

Are you nutz? $100 for an EVGA PSU? ill pay $100 for a Seasonic brand one, not a rebranded seasonic unit,

That board supports the ES chip xeons if you wanted to grab a 10-14 core they fall under the $400 mark.

I'd suggest save few tens of bucks by going with ARCTIC Freezer i11 CPU.

You may or may not need 32GB. I am not sure what kind of scale you do for video editing, so can't tell. But you may be able to save more money by going down to 16GB.

Could save more by going with 500GB SSD. Again, I don't know how big files you will be dealing with.

Then you should look at "workstation graphics cards" instead of a gaming card. Clearly, they can be budget busters, but they really are more suited for the job of editing - just as gaming cards are more suited for gaming.

Yeah, you can haul gravel around in the family sedan, and you can haul your family around in a pickup truck - but the right tool for the job is typically more effective.

Ohhh, yeah, I literally came when I fired up that baby. A scene that took 100 minutes with i7-6700 (non-K0) took 35 minutes.

AMD based cards have a pretty stout video rendering ability...regardless of workstation designation. That being said he is rendering on the CPU so who cares. He could have an 8400GS and it wont make a single sliver of difference.

I am not saying a gaming card won't work - it certainly will. But if "really serious" about editing (or CAD/CAE), a workstation card is the "really serious" way to go.

Well, considering most of what it will be is video playback, not neccesarily a gaming card would be the right tool I understand that, but I don't need like a Quadro M6000 or a Firepro W9100. Im basically gonna go pick up a 250X I know is at my local best buy haha
