Logitech SetPoint 4.0 released

Anyone using the SetPoint software provided for Logitech mice and keyboards can now update their software to version 4.0. It supports the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of both Windows XP and Windows Vista, with the download being approximately 60MB for each - Windows 2000 and earlier are not supported by the new software. Unfortunately (for most), it now comes bundled with the Yahoo! Toolbar, so make sure to unselect that option if you don't use such tools. There don't seem to be any major changes, presumably just bug fixes and a couple of new features. You can download the new software here.

The software for managing all the hotkeys, encrypting wireless keyboards, changing mouse and keyboard settings, monitoring battery levels ect.

I think it works with most Logitech devices, so you could give it a try and see if it's worth it.

I've had 3 wireless logitech mice in a row now for the last 6 years. Everytime I've tried installing their setpoint software it's made my mice run worse than the default windows drivers. I'm not talking cheesy little 2 button mice either, I've been using an MX1000 and a G7. I think they only thing I'm missing out on is the tilt-wheel feature, but it's never used anyway with a wide enough screen.

I'm sticking with version 310, the setpoints after 310 cause my cursor to take momentary spasm's, usually jumping it halfway across the screen, which ain't good in the middle of a battle in BF2.

I had other issues with the versions after the 3.10 - they went downhill for a while. This release seems quite good though.

For my G5,the firmware updates have improved the performance big time.I will try this though.

okay, okay... you got me to try them

so far so good, I've never had the drivers work this well. Usually the acceleration is weird, or the xtra buttons don't work, or a game isn't recognized but I like what I feel so far.

G-15 has its own software(which I must admit IS truly lacking) I have stuck with the 1.02's as they seem the most intuitive. They are up to 1.04 but I still dont like the way they run(mainly for me its the volume indicator doesnt work after 1.02)
