Like the title says if you are seeing MB services using HUGE amounts of Ram its a known issue as of today and a few hours ago....I did all trouble shooting unintall reinstall clean try again and then found out it is a KNOWN ISSUE AS OF A FEW HOURS AGO! I uninstalled and will leave it that way until fixed!!

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/219918-ram-usage-what-is-going-on/

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/219928-mbam-taking-20gb-of-ram/

Also web Protection will not activate and that's part of the above issue too!!

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/220045-web-protection-off-unable-to-contact-license-server/

Sometime errors on contacting MB servers too.

I have two laptops on line right now that run Malewarebytes Pro and I had to uninstall the app from both laptops to get out of the memory leak that's going on, The Malewarebytes Service will need to be killed in the task manager in order for the MB app to even uninstall and you may have to kill the service more than once to get it to uninstall but after reboot of uninstall the issue will be gone but so will the app be gone as well and I recommend leaving it that way until MB gets the issue resolved!

FIXED & and I must admit that was pretty fast but not as fast as the embarrassment was for them!

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/220025-malwarebytes-has-been-hacked-uninstall/?page=4

EDIT: I can confirm that the database update to Update Package version 1.0.3803 does indeed fix ALL the mentioned TODAY issues!

"Hi everyone

This issue has been resolved. We have just released a patch for this issue with Database 3803. Please update to the most recent update database by clicking on Updates on the Dashboard.

I had this happen a week or so ago. The reason I noticed was because of the web protection. For me it was a full uninstall and then reinstall. Hopefully it's not happening again, have to go check when Im near my computer

Here's another on Web Protection: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/220026-web-protection-keeps-turning-off/

That said, it is not certain the two issues are related. My Web Protection kept turning off on 3 different systems but I was not having a problem with massive RAM consumption.
That is the exact same issue they are all the same and this started early today. SAME ISSUES. HUGE RAM, NO WEB PROTECTION, Sometime failes to reach Malewarebytes Servers. SAME ISSUES!

Look here at the issues that are all related that started this morning. https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/41-malwarebytes-3/

I tried that first things and for the TODAY issue it does NOT help.:(

Earlier this morning my daughter was playing Sims four ,and it was wicked laggy, and kept crashing. I had assumed it was custom content so I had to remove it but while I was doing something else she stopped using the computer ,and when I saw her she told me that it wouldn't work and it was freezing again while she was just watching videos. I found this after checking on Malwarebytes

It's only happening on Windows 7 PC for me not on windows 10.

Just had two emergency support calls with the same issues and remoted in and did the uninstall and reboot to get them back to normal and for now it will stay uninstalled on them too until the fix is issued.

Go get the correct update

there is NOT one yet, unless you know otherwise, and if so please do tell us the correct update.

My thoughts are that they are related in some way. Since my free trail has just ended and the real-time protection went with it, I am not having this issue. I scan twice a week, manually, and have not been having an issues with the free version.

All the issues with this I have seen on Windows 10 and I'm not saying this is not happening to Windows 7 but i seen it on four windows 10 PC's today ....my two and two in Emergency Support calls.

Right on and thank you for helping to confirm the legitimacy of this thread.
I just wanted TPU to be aware as there are a lot of support Techs here and I felt it wise to holler from the roof tops to help some in trouble shooting potential issue for the day! Back to enjoying my weekend!:lovetpu:

I have the free version and this update is not buggy for me. The one above, not the one Swiped mentioned. The one he mentioned should work for the Premium Versions.

i am SO sick of putting up with this Carp program. i have paid for it legitimately, and the support has always been terible, they dont stand behind the product, and there is CONSTANTLY issues with it, not everyone is getting it for one friggin PC, some of us buy multiple keys, to run on multiple PC's, and it is a REAL PITA, when they screw up YET again. ii have had 6 issues with MBAM in the last 2 years & im getting Really tired of it.. thats 6 issues , times 5 PC's, i have to resolve,

when the safest thing for your PC is to REMOVE Malwarebytes, what does that tell You? looks like theyre turning into another Mcafee

Yeah man they are on this like flies on poo for sure as this is a MASSIVE issue for them right now, their support lines are off the hook right now, lol .

they better be. i remember when win10 wouldnt work with MBAM, and they released afix, then it happened again, another fix, again, another fix, on and on....and dealing with the support is useless, unless you bought MBAM directly from MBAM, since according to them, if you buy it from amazon, or newegg, they are unlicensed retailers, ,and its no different than buying it from some dud behind the mall by your house....its a joke.

i might just leave this uninstalled for good, this couldbe my last "issue with MBAM" day

I was curious, so I google translated. Finally, my old saying, "It's all Greek, to me!", came true! :p

After removing junkwarebytes ,and restarting ,i took this pic, while running chrome ,and the Sims four & this is what my ram usage looks like

Just got this on my wife's PC, Win 10 blamed video card for the issue lol. Removed the program for now until fixed as even when disabled it was coursing a issue oddly.

thats becasue MBAM is recognized as a DirectX program. You'll have issues recording desktop if You run MBAM since it will detect the MBAM as 3D....i dont know why, but it is the case, im guessing thats why windows attributed it to the GPU. i always need to stop MBAM when i record Desktop activity with Dxtory, or Afterburner:rolleyes:

Agreed. They released a new update and that has resolved the RAM consumption issue as well as the Web Protection turned off issue. You may have to wait awhile for the update to actually take place and Web Protection turns on again after installing the update. Or you can just exit and restart the program. Either way it appears fixed.

However, I am concerned this problem happened in the first place. It is impossible to ensure every update will always be perfect. But considering how widespread this problem became so quickly, I fear in-house testing on the offending update was inadequate in the first place. :( And that has been a problem in the past, starting with 3.x's initial release. :(

Glad they fixed it. Dont know if ill be re-installing it tho....this was one of thoae "straw that broke the camels back" issues i think.

Good to go, I didn't even uninstall. I updated, rebooted, and done deal. Going through the family systems and not needing to uninstall theirs either. I kill the service in Task Manager, start it again, initiate a check for updates, let it do its thing, reboot, and use the system. Done deal.

1.0.3803 is the version that fixes the bug. Find version by opening the MBAM GUI, going to Settings > About tab > Find Update package version line.
