It's complicated. I rarely post on TPU now on "serious" threads: one, because on most situations there is already a solution and there's little I can add - no matter how much I would like to. And second, because everything has to be politically correct these days . It's just comes down to the fact that mods are people and as people they do have some stance on certain matters. Like it or not, their decisions come from somewhere (their worldview, beliefs, etc.) and it happens they can't be perfect.

Not what I saw at all. I left the thread early on because it wasn't about games and suspected it would only got worse from there. Came back at the end to have my suspicions confirmed.

I guess I was part of the problem, although I honestly I didn't think that an off-the-cuff comment would ruffle so many Yankee feathers. But I definitely didn't post anything overtly bigoted, and in that regard I feel that the mods were quite justified in closing the thread... in fact, I think they waited too long to do so.

I agree. I think some moderators have the idea that closing everything down is the same thing as moderation, which it certainly is not. Like we have done here at TPU for many years now, we should continue to moderate the people/posts that need moderation. I will continue to moderate in this way. As someone whos seen a lot (I wont go into it) I can tell you this world is insane. Its when you try and argue the constructs of thousands of years of civilization and human nature does the world win. Play by the established rules and youll do way better.

unless your a higher up member, I have seen political posts, subtle jibes here and there that higher up members get away with all the time. TPU is no different than any other organization or company or forum, the human species lets things slide for those who are privileged.

no need to comment on it further. i really like TPU and I think it has a healthy future and I fully expect it to grow over time (our only competition is OCN really and their website layout is terrible) I have confidence the mods will continue to improve but yeah R-T=-B nailed it on the head.


@erocker hope you come back someday and mod again, you are a staple of this community.

@everyone we live in a very weird time politically, its because very odd for everyone I think. I myself tried giving subtle political jibes recently, and I regret it. TPU is supposed to be a safe space for the hobbies I love. lets forgive eachother and move forward and enjoy our hobbies. and political stuff can go in the Lounge

Thats because this site was built around PC gamers. Miners screwed up their GPU prices.......DIE MINER DIE!
