nice , gonna try them out ASAP , when i get home from office.

Has it been a month already ? I just got 7.6 loaded at home ! lol
Well ... off to get 7.7

Thanks DaMulta, just wanted to post the story quickly so no one beat me to it  - it does happen!

Anyway, the XP changes have been included now.

Edit what I just deleted into your post:) If you want of course.

I was sorta hoping that they would put in manual fan control one of these days.

You would think after the nice letter I sent to Cat Crew they would have throw in it.

you can customise the fan profile with ati tray tools to load the selected profile at startup. I've got mine configured so it's at 50% in 2d (below 60°C) and 100% in 3d (gpu temp goes over 60°C)

Is anyone else having big time trouble installing these with xp x64? I never had any trouble with these before, but now, when I try to install them, I get a "file not copied" error. After that, things seem fine, but (x800 comes up and I can change resolution), but when I restart, my x800 and x800 secondary are always disabled in device manager. Upon enabling them, I get the "windows has found new hardware" crap.

I've tried redoing everything with Driver Cleaner Pro, and installing the drivers using only the .ini files in device manager... no difference. Also, when trying to uninstall the drivers using the add/remove programs thing, I get the error "unable to uninstall older or non-ati display drivers."

Any ideas?

Edit: dammit, now I get the same problems going back to 7.5! I'm gonna have to reinstall Windows...

I know. I use AtiTool for adjusting temps. The issue is that neither AtiTool or Ati Tray Tools works very well with a Vista / Crossfire combination. Since I do not OC the cards, it would nice if I could just set the fans in CCC and skip using anything else.

I set mine as such :
13% fan up to 39C
50% fan @ 40C
75% fan @ 45C
100% fan @ 50C and above

Wonder if the max resolution of a monitor issue is fixed.

I contacted ATI about the BSOD when launching Windows Media Center "Live TV" in Vista 32 and a black screen in Vista 64 and I was told it was not addressed in this series 7.7 and will be addressed in future releases....

I hope that means 7.8...

No problem here installing on both Vista x86 and x64.

As far as an performance increase my 3D mark06 scores have not changed much but there have been some enhancments based on the readme..

WHOOOOT! I finally got the lost planet demo running on my 2900 without going psychotic over artifacts! go 7.7! go ati! go 2900!:rockout:
