I'm considering some new RAM for my 6700k Z170 system (at the moment just used for WCG Crunching but could be utilised for gaming rig or what have you ) as currently there's a 4Gb 2400Mhz Corsair stick in there and I think it's just too small so I'm after a few suggestions really of what a sweet spot for some RAM would be..
I've noticed whilst Crunching with Linux Mint 19.3 I believe the version is (with the same rig, 8 threads) that the 8Gb of RAM I have in another system (Xeon E3 1245 V3, another 8 thread CPU) is also falling a little short with it allowing about 5 to 10% free at worst case times, so I'm thinking that 16Gb would be more than enough and if I swapped it over for a gaming rig or in Windows..
So 16Gb kit, 3200Mhz to 3466Mhz would be the sweet spot? B die of course I think is the only way forward I'm quite taken by some G Skill TridentX stuff.. But I was curious, what would anyone else go for?
