Pic To Name Game Challenge.

Jesus, the colony micromanagement in that game...

Ascendancy ;)

I'm old school, I know :D Played that one on a 486

My game still hasn't been identified ... hmm. Really, nobody here played S********** ?

Yeah I loved it man! The way you saw that research crystal, the factory and the tree grow as your colony improved had a magical quality to it for me :D And... this game already did custom ship building, and ship to ship combat so well, it was actually balanced. Just figured out this is abandonware now, nabbed a dosbox version right away... I know what I'm doing tonight :p

Your game... I srsly don't know. I'm seeing some vague Eldar (WH40K) ship figure (or its a lookalike) but I can't say for sure.

Speaking of 486... I played this on the one at school. Supa addictive  Though I never really understood how scissors, bombs and floppies are related.

Supaplex.

EZ.
Gimme something difficult :D

I concede... got this feeling you are a walking encyclopedia anyway

Spending ~30 years of life being a geek kinda has that effect
Wikitrexpedia ^.^

I actually (almost) finished the game by skipping two levels which were impossible. After retrying for hundreds of times, I just gave up.
The game gets insanely hard near lvl 100 and impossibly hard after it... only pure sheer luck can allow somebody to actually get them.
Took me just a few years of retries (my High School years). Probably why I didn't date girls back then and become a "movie-perfect" nerd. Blame Supaplex :))

SP requires insane skill, reflexes, precognition, remembering patterns... everything.
One needs to be a semi-genius and in their 20's MAX to be able to actually play that game to the end.

It's probably the hardest game ever made in the history of all games.

Aaah, but that's not all ;)

Due to the 8-bit map design (basically, characters), I was able to make an editor in Borland Pascal and VGA 640x480 (which was changing the actual levels) ... and made all kind of weird experiments with it.
Maaan... the amount of life I spent with that game.

I´m sorry @Wavetrex , but I couldn´t figure your game out. I found it eventually by going through a list of games, still I won´t say what it is cause thats cheating :) Just have to say I was surprised by the release date.

I wonder, did anyone ever play this?

Spend many happy hours with it as a child. This was from around the time I started to really get into PC-gaming.

Indie game called "Contrast".

Bingo nice one

Alright next challenge.

Hint: It released in 2001 and is considered on of the greatest games ever made

.........................................................................

Hint: the number 7 is heavily featured in this game and over the years it became a cult classic shooter

I may have to give a hint on this one. One of my favorite games on the Commodore 64 in the mid 80s.

Here's a hint. The Publisher/ Developer was MicroProse. Sid Meiers was one of the co-founders of MicroProse and they went on to make some great games until the early 2000s when they were dissolved.

Clue: this is a game I still haven't finished.

I lose this game because I don't take screen shots while I play. :(
