OFFICIAL Cyberpunk 2077 Game Discussion

Technically, some of the word can "play early" CDPR is releasing it via "their time" Here is the chart they posted of course I could just be dumb.

Is it really “early” when wherever you live it is midnight of the 10th? In other words, in anyone’s locale, the game unlocks when CDPR said it would.

In any case, it doesn’t mean that GOG pre-loaders can play earlier than Steam pre-loaders, on a local basis.

Do I sense doubt? I get a tingle of uncertainty from your question.

No, it was an interrogative form of counterargument. It forces the other person to think more carefully.

Was at a local retail store today - ps4 copies were already on display. To make it worse they were just unpacking a delivery of CP 2077 t-shirts.

I saw a youtuber yesterday said that some major retailers like Best Buy actually started selling PS and Xbox copies, against their contractual agreements.

EDIT:
Seemingly confirmed. It may be an honest mistake. Not cool at all though.

Starting today I started to see this trailer from a couple months ago on the television. I guess CDPR isn’t content with the massive word-of-mouth worldwide hype. They are spending very real advertising dollars now.

Not a great trailer. Keanu's unconvincing delivery, repeating game footage and a song I don't like. That last one is of course subjective. Gotta pick a modern "hip" song I guess.

Would have much preferred they actually used some dystopian but cyberpunk/sci-fi to it..hopefully there is a track that is similar to kaneda theme from Akira or something that would be cool.
According to another forum i'm on, people with GOG copies can pre-load install today or something. I may give it a look on my lunch break and see if its possible in preparation for Thursday.

Anyone on GoG got their preloads going? I haven't been given the option to :(

I'm on GOG and installing right now :toast:

There's a rumor of a 50 GB+ patch on release so preload won't help much.

A 60GB game with a 50GB patch?
I'm rolling my eyes at than one.

The "game" itself is from a multiple months old build, and considering the amounts of delays I wouldn't be surprised if the day 1 patch is being worked on right now, so the 50GB+ patch is just the last 3/4 months of work being patched in. It's not 60+50GB=110GB total game size, the size of the game is supposedly just 70GB so the patch is mostly just writing over the 60GB you download to begin with.

On the system requirements it says 70GB so maybe a 10GB patch

Came here to sample some hype.

Not disappointed, no :)

I pray the first day will be kind on you all... May your pixels shine bright. RTX on or off

Seeing how 43 GB patch was deployed on Xbox last week and it's not even the final patch I'd say Day 0 PC patch might be 50 GB.

One wonders why they don't just let you preload a manifest or log file and be done with it. lol

It's downloaded but it tells you to go back to sleep until Dec 10th.

"In 2077, what makes someone a criminal...?"
"getting caught."

"so seize the day and set it on fire"

I keep seeing this subtle gem of an ad with keanu. I've been excited for this one, now i see people downloading it makes me more excited. I got pvp itch pretty well scratched for now so i should be able to dive right into this head first.

This Game will be one of those benchmarks in the history of Gaming like Crysis. I say that because Crysis was not just visually stunning but revolutionary in terms of Gameplay, Story and controls right from the beginning (If you have actually played it).

This is Game is all about why people watch Blade runner, why people like Akira, Ghost in the Shell or AD Police even. Altered Carbon even falls into this daspunk techno future that those of us that played Flashback on the SNES back in the day know all about.

It's from CPRD and there is no denying the quality of the Witcher series so the DNA is there sort of like how Konami or Capcom used to be for Games on consoles.

The hype. There is one thing that I continually reflect on with this Game and is that in June of 2019 the CP2077 Community on GOG had over 500,000 subs? The Game is not even close to being released but the Gameplay video means that with the upgrades and other accoutrements the Game gives you the experience can be different to the point where that slice generated that much interest.

Watch, just in time for Xmas there will be CP2077 Merch in places that it really shouldn't be. There will be plenty of kids in Grades 4 & 5 playing this that really should not be.

At the end of the day thank God CA released DLC for TWWH2 because playing Project Cars 3 does not hold me with the specter of this on the horizon. I can't wait to get what we all look for (for those of us who are Gamers for life) in the new experiences in terms of things that you have never seen in your mind's eye. Like that scene in the Movie Togo near the beginning or even better Mando that needs it's own thread seriously.

If I had my guess I'd say so many people are excited because they see all the subtleties in the creative vision all the way around. It's refreshing to see a big budget game that actually has some soul behind it. nowdays those are few and far between let's be honest. As far as the harping about kids playing it and merch being places it really shouldn't be....meh, I don't really buy into that too much. Crime is a reality of this world, all a kid needs to do to see the same thing is turn on any given news channel at the right time. I think sheltering kids from reality is arguably just as harmful as exposing them to it. That's just my personal opinion though and i think beyond that we should try to keep the discussion as closely related to the game as possible :D
