OFFICIAL Cyberpunk 2077 Game Discussion

Have you played as female character? She clearly states that male V is not her type. She plays for the other team, unless you're a girl best you can do is friend zone.

Yup playing as female V

It turns out my crashing issues in this game were caused by my memory being unstable. Maybe Zen+ can't handle 3600MHz C18. Been running at 2933MHz C16, and everything has been rock solid stable.

I thought Zen+ only did 3200+ with rare samples going higher.

And here we observe the elusive missing asset in its natural habitat...

did you try 3200 or 3400 instead I had no issue running 3200MHz CL 16-18-18 on my R7 2700

Anywho HAPPY NEW YEAR to all

I found this issue on my 5950x, It did not like going over 1900mhz infinity fabric... I'm running my memory at 3600mhz 1800mhz IF.

Yhea, most of the side gigs are fillers. Some of the hunt in the tw3 were also straightforward, but the differences here is in the massive number of gigs that you get (along with the game being much shorter than tw3).

But at the same time, it looks like the studio is actively looking for quest designer and writers:
I sure hope that it won't go the way of WBGames, where DLC roadmap would heavily interfere with bugfix schedule....

Maybe not. I got my first couple of BSODs ever on my Zen rig just a few days ago, and it only happened in CP2077 after 1-2 hours of gameplay, and only started on patch 1.06. Just stock 1600x with 3000MHz T-Force Vulcan, cleaned and reseated my AIO back in Sept. Haven't had a single crash before that (or after, if I'm not playing CP). Could be some rare memory management issue in engine.

So... is your crafting level actually capped at whatever your tech skill is? It seems to me mine is stuck at level 5. Been there for a while and I have literally broken down enough stuff for ~50000 materials, taken that and used it to craft other stuff and upgrades. Get exactly 0 exp for any of it. My tech is at 5. So I assume it's tied to attribute.

If so, that kinda sucks. Can't find anything about it. All I see are dumb articles basically saying "Doh, y'know, crafting is easy exp. Make dumb shit and break it down and make more and level forever! Do it right away!"

Except that's not what I'm seeing and I'm wondering if the dinguses writing that are actually leveling tech early and not realizing the actual skill level is locked to attribute level and past that point the game decides the time put into crafting is actually worthless. Either that or I'm bugged again lol

EDIT: LOL alright, so it DOES say that, just not very clearly. If you go to the skill tree, you see "Max Level" on the right hand side of the level bar when you're capped. So there are plenty of articles that will tell you how to waste a lot of time early game. God do I hate most game publications that try to write tips. Half of your job is to play fucking video games and yet you fail at that in the articles you write about them lol

I was just so confused... people are saying that you can keep leveling it everywhere, but it seems extremely not true. All the same to me. I've just been cheezing the sodas to make rare maxdoc mk2's. They break down into common, uncommon, and rare materials. By the time you make and break down a few hundred of them using the components you get from the drinks, you can sell just the rare ones you get and make 100k in like a half hour. Good for cyberware, or upgrading rare or even some epic guns early game. I'm like, level 12 with some epic and legendary cyberware, as well as double jump. I've also got an iconic smart smg with 500dps thanks to upgrading so... ...I mean, kiroshi optics with the 50% headshot DMG boost on a gun that basically auto-headshots, on top of passive crit boosts, perk crit boosts, and other various damage boosts. I am becoming unstoppable on very hard already. They never have a chance. Hide behind cover for another 20% crit boost and just pop magic crit headshot bullets in their general direction lol.

Still feel a little jipped on the crafting exp. Very salty.

Ran into that the other day, I was trying to max my crafting level but once I hit my tech level it stopped, I put two more points in it to max it to 20 and then I was able to max my crafting.

Now I'm just trying to figure out the strategic rationale for giving the Tyger Claws smart weapon immunity that nobody else has. I know the lore reason. Just happen to think it is annoying and pointless that there is one single gang out there that a smart weapons build is borderline powerless against without a backup. I feel like I could beat pretty much the whole game with just one smart weapon. I know they hit nearly everything. So am I just supposed to carry a regular weapon to kill Claws with? I can kill Adam Smasher with a smart AR, but not a level 10 Tyger? That doesn't make any sense to me. There's nothing interesting about it, so it feels like an arbitrary punishment.

Now, if they included that feature with other specific enemies, for reasons that made sense, such as balancing, cool. It would factor into the build. But to change my whole build for one enemy seems dumb. I just carry a regular weapon that sits there 90% of the time, waiting for claws. But it's not exactly MORE balanced for having one specific common enemy that is unilaterally immune to the super OP weapon lol. It's just an inconvenience. Unbalanced one way most of the time, and the other way every now and then.

Yeah some people are sayin theres a memory leak but I've not seen it and I've managed to play for 8hrs solid at a time without noticing any memory problems but then it's CP2077 this game will perform differently even for two systems of exactly the same spec :kookoo:

I think there are a lot of problems with optimization and probably resource management as a whole. But I also suspect that what most people think are memory issues are actually just scripting that wasn't cleaned up properly... it overflows and things don't terminate right. So you randomly get weird, buggy behavior that persists until you reload, unexplained performance drops, conflicts that cause crashes. I mean, you can see this even with more hard-scripted scenarios where you manage to do something they didn't account for and manage to break it. And I mean, stupid stuff you shouldn't even have the power to mess up. If they didn't even get to that stuff, you can be sure they never weeded up open ends and overlap with different variables.

A lot of the features, with the problems they're having, just don't quite seem finished. Probably didn't get hammered out much. It was more like "I need to get this working enough to be presentable as a full representative of what it is supposed to be so that I can start working on these other things." Starting too many things without finishing them. Seems to be really common now. Try to work in a bunch of different things at once and make lots of additions, instead of going from the bottom up with an increasingly more sophisticated product where everything is working properly at any step in its development. So you get a bunch of stuff that's fully there in concept and ALMOST there in realization... so a lot of it has these silly little oversights. And I promise you beneath that is a lot of scripting that was never tied-up properly. So when it all starts working together in endless combinations of states, suddenly you have what look like memory issues.

So you get a bunch of stuff that's fully there in concept and ALMOST there in realization...

Because then you get 60% of a game that is 100% working instead of 100% of a game that is 60% working.

I've played "a bit more" than 8 hours ))) I think it's at least 20 hours just on the latest patch. Too much spare time during holidays.
RNG is in my favor, as usual :D
And around 20-25 more hours on 1.05, and not a single critical glitch (just some minor/avoidable scripting issues in side quests etc.). Otherwise, it was rock-stable.

It's the classic case of the student who had a whole school break to work on his essay but decided to do it 1 or 2 days before the deadline.

Right now, lots of people have made a timeline of CP2077 development and showed the contrats between what was said by the management, and what was actually happening on the dev side. Seems like time was wasted in pre prod, and stuff were being removed/added on a whim.

Anyone know a workaround for these two bugs, one is gamebreaking and both are aggravating.

First bug: Scanner screen getting stuck, no biggie if it happens out of combat, just save and load, if not e.g. in combat or manning a camera, just load most recent save and lament the loss of any good pick ups.

Second bug: Makes NCPD side missions, both types random ones and ones called in by dispatch, unable to be completed. Do the mission but when it comes time to turn the mission by securing the evidence, once I interact with the evidence nothing happens and the mission icon dissappears a nothing happens, mission gets stuck in limbo.

I've been enjoying the game but I'm starting to have my fill of bugs at this point, I can ignore the vast majority of them since are visual bug, and physics bugs like things falling through floors, cars getting marrooned on dead bodies, or random inconsequential things. I have a really low tolerance for bugs that affects progression. 2 steps forward, 1 step back is how my first day with this game has been. You know anyone who's saying the PC version is fine and that they don't notice any bugs are fucking liars.

I just ended doing frequent saves in case something like that happens. I was once stuck in safe mode, I couldn't use any weapon or call a car, reloading a save was the only way out

Yeah, but I just found out the I needed to do that the hard way as I only had autosaves and the available ones are all affected ncpd mission one.

So I finally finished the heist and gee whiz, why don't they make AAA games for people with depression?

And to go with:. Jeebus, why are you Eastern Euros so damn dark and depressed?

Because then you get 60% of a game that is 100% working instead of 100% of a game that is 60% working.
The idea is that you finish the stuff that most needs to be there first, rather than adding extra stuff at any time and switching gears to that. Makes it easier to not wind up with things that can't be fixed when asshole managers who listen to marketing people who are seeing reactions to such and such thing are planning to market some thing that wasn't meant to be in the game but now has to be worked on.

So ehh... in this case you're getting more like 100% of a different game that is 60% working. The idea with what I'm getting at is that it should be easier to stay on target and even work more efficiently the more things that simply must be done you have lined-up at the very soonest opportunity. They would be able to get more done, spend the last couple of years getting to the fancy stuff, instead of having to spend the first year post-release fixing basic things that should've been right from the start. They could then spend that time working on better post-release content.

That's as opposed to what they actually did, which was spend a couple of years in dreamland and then rush to actually make the dream real at the very end, at which point the dream was already starting to make less sense and getting harder to remember. Bethesda has this same issue. Hella ambitious but ultimately not enough focus on fundamentals to actually deliver on all of the things they hope will be possible and then later found out aren't. It becomes a mess of so much jumbled stuff they've got strung together that it becomes impossible to ever fully fix. That's the other thing about adding stuff without finishing stuff. You get critical issues that wind up affecting everything.

Think of it this way... you can't truly skip the things that simply NEED to be done in order to have a working game. The longer you wait to get to that point, the more time and effort has to be spent getting it there later, if you ever manage to. Trust me on this one. ADHD has made sure I know that this is a TERRIBLE way to get anything done.

Haha, I love them for that. Cyberpunk movies and shows always had a bit of that noir flare in their characters and storytelling. Dark, sad, and cynical is the way a lot of good cyberpunk stories are built. It's a tragedy where all of the biggest mistakes have already been made by society and your lesson is in watching them play out and knowing there's no changing it.

Finished the main quest as a nomad early this morning.
Went with allowing Johnny to take control got Rogue involved, and broke into Araska Tower. Later on since Alt says V's DNA/neurons are irreversible because of the bio chip I decided to send Johnny to cyberspace but since V kept interrupting me from going I turned around, and sent Johnny back into V's body.
