The log file and Limit Reasons screenshot shows lots of PL1 power limit throttling at 15W. The 8250U has a 15W TDP rating. Acer uses an embedded controller (EC) to lock the CPU so long term, it cannot exceed 15W. Your ThrottleStop settings are OK. There is no way to get beyond the Acer 15W limitation.

Edit - Here is an example of a similar 8th Gen U series CPU that runs more than 2000 MHz faster. This Lenovo C930 does not enforce the 15W power limit like Acer likes to do.

Ok, thanks for explanation.

One more question, when I play games everything runs fine but there are random FPS drops that go with the cpu and gpu usage going to 0%.

Could the power limit be a reason for that?

Do you have a SSD drive or a mechanical hard drive?

Turn the ThrottleStop log file option on so I can see a record of this.

When you take a CPU that is capable of running at 35W and Acer deliberately chokes it down to 15W, some throttling and poor performance can be expected. Drops to 0% sounds like a hard drive issue.

Yeah I expected that to be the case :(

I have a HDD, might need to invest in a ssd to replace the intel optane memory.
