Did an Arctis headset insult your mom or something? What I got from the review was: alright at ~$100, not at $144.

I think there have been at least 10-15 insults spoken and heard around the world through Arctis headsets in the time it took me to type this response, so who knows

Did they fix the problems with the cup breaking/detaching at the point where the headband connects to it? When I was reading reviews for older models with the same type of connection, it was horror story after horror story (with photos) about how easy they break there. I went with a set with a much more substantial headband and connection, after my previous Turtle Beach headset broke when the plastic on the headband broke while putting them on one day. I'm so sick of all of this cheap plastic in everything.

Great review! I just wanted to thank you for including the inner cup dimensions. I wish all reviews did as that would make it easier for us big ears crowd.

No software and associated features (EQ, microphone sidetone, etc.)

I dont see this is a Con, to me its a Pro. Not having to install any extra software is a boon. EQ can be handled thru sound card software, like Realtec Audio Manager, which I havent installed either in a long time. I dont know what is meant by mic sidetone, so cant say if thats good or bad.

I've been using these for the last ~3 years, before lockdown they got lots of use with music while commuting, I appreciate the lack of excess bass (a trick used by some cheap headphones), through lockdown they were used for work meeting as they we're much better that the generic headsets supplied. They are also great for gaming (coming from ASUS Vulcan).

Of course it helps that the set I picked up supposedly had a battery fault and only cost £25.

This was fixed when they moved from Siberia to Arctis. As far as i know Arctis has never had this problem because the connection is totally redesigned and compased of metal, not plastic. I had two Siberia 800's break like that (also known as H Wireless befiore Siberia branding). I've had the same Arctis Pro Wireless for ~3 years now and aside from ordering new batteries twice and new earcups and headband once (normal wear and tear) i've had nolthing break. Im not saying it's a bulletproof design but after years of use is see no issue with it. It's as sturdy as the day i bought it.

But initial impressions are hard to change and i see hate towards Steelseries all the time. Most of it unjustified.
