HD2600/2400 Series Overclocking and Feedback thread

yes it would be nice to know what that whatcallit file is called it might help...

Under "C:\Windows\System32\Futuremark\MSC\" you should find a file called Direcpll.dll... Rename/delete that one and your good.

Finally I got a decent CPU cooler and started putting my system to work.
I got my HD2600xt/ddr3 to 960/840 currently.
Gonna start testing stability and artefacts later on and post the benchmark results here.

Thats the one!

Yup. Reading and clocking the HD2xxx-series seems to be quite a b*tch... Even Futuremarks clock-reading utility crashes when it comes to that. I hope some cool guy manages to fully understand this new ati way of clocking and releases a proper Overclocking tool. (W1zzard? ATITool 0.27 b3?) ^^

Seems like not even ATI understands it since even CCC has the bug..
Good think AMDGPUClockTool works for me.. Now if I could just make it set my frequencies automatically at boot..

PS: Urbklr911 and others, if You could just stop polluting the thread with crap that would be great.. TY :shadedshu

Yeah, I'm a little confused as well... :ohwell:

Oh and PT, I don't have anything else running besides AMD GPU Clock Tool and I have yet to get it working correctly again, I'm just stumped atm. I don't even have Catalyst Control Center installed for that matter.

i don't have ccc anymore, just amd clock tool, it works for me :)

Hi, I heard of the "external event monitor" (or something like that)-service (former hotkeypoller) being problematic with AMDGPUClocktool. Try disabling that if it's still there... Should be uninstalled with CCC but who knows what ATI uninstalls and installs for real... ^^

PS: Just had that bug again myself (the Tool not starting and using up more and more ram). What worked for me is waiting for 2-3 minutes and it opened up right away.

Thanks for the info! I'll give it a try once I get my main rig fully upgraded! :toast:

Pt...you can delete me from the front page now thanks.

PS:Spliff is mad at me because my posts no longer help much and i have a disturbing clown pic in my sig.....

LoL! Oh well!

Isn't that the evil clown demon from Stephen King's "It" movie?

I dont know....i think so.....Zek gave it to me cause i was being bad haha....and i dicided to keep it for a bit.

I got the final 100% stable 100% artefacts-free clocks for my 2600xt.
Unfortunately they got down to 911.25/837, as reported by AMDGPUClockTool.

So I used AMDGPUClockTool with cmd-line parameters and made a link to start at boot.
But.. after 10-15secs from windows boot-up, CCC kicks in and resets display.. and also gives me black screen.. GG AMD :respect:
I removed CCC from start-up and now I can enjoy the new setings automatically :toast:

Jesus Cryst.. could the ATI drivers suck even more? :(

Not too bad I figure...

Hi, mind sharing how to make that .bat file? Would love to have that for my laptop aswell, at least as long as it's connected to the AC-Line it would just rock.
I guess the drivers are still really early in development though, hopefully ATI manages to get some crazy ass driver out that makes cards go faster something like 25% (back in the days where I had the 9800xt something like that happened and it really worked!)

Just make a shortcut of AMDGPUClockTool.exe, go to properties and add to target the parameters:
Code:
 D:\AMDGPUClockTool\AMDGPUClockTool.exe -eng=xxx -mem=xxx

Here are my newest results:
3DMark01: 37.346
3DMark03: 16.204
3DMark05: 11.668
3DMark06: 5.611

it says target is invalid
nice scores

@Spliff: Thanks a lot!

@pt: I think you selected the right path, no? Basically the one where YOU have your AMDGPUClocktool and not exactly like Spliff posted. :)

:S
still not working
could you take a screenshot, of where i'm supposed to change?

Just create Your own shortcut to AMDGPUClockTool.exe (right-click->create shortcut) and add to target the params: <space>-eng=xxx -mem=xxx

Just create Your own shortcut to AMDGPUClockTool.exe (right-click->create shortcut) and add to target the params: <space>-eng=xxx -mem=xxx

i did that
not working

it do work...
make shortcut of AMDGPUClockTool.exe to the desktop...
right click the shortcut...
at target of the properties...
add AMDGPUClockTool.exe -eng=xxx -mem=xxx
xxx is your core and memory speed....
it just silently oc.......

a.jpg

wich translates to:

the name "C:\Documents and Settings\Tiago\Ambiente de trabalho\AMDGPUClockTool_v0.7\AMDGPUClockTool\AMDGPUClockTool.exe -eng=857 -mem=999", specified in the target box ain't valid, make sure the path and name are correct

what am i doing wrong?

Lose the "" or put params outside of them "..." -eng=....

kk
done, now how do i make it to start on startup?
