HD2600/2400 Series Overclocking and Feedback thread

upload that bios Spliff:)

I would upload the bios but the file that atitool dumps does'nt look like the vga bios to me..
Ati flash tools cant read the rom.. If you got others suggestions they are welcome.

The ram chips say Qimonda 1.4ns, 1.8V. I found the Vram info here. They also have the 2V version of this chip wich is supposed to do 1-0.8ns!? I wonder what mine could do with 2V

there's some info about that some pages ago, i will look

edit
this are mine
HYB18H256321BF-10 - rated 1ghz, does 999mhz

"the actually way to dump the bios at the moment i found is using atiflash latest ver and
type (at dos)
atiflash -s 0 YourBiosName.bin"

:)
NOW UPLOAD IT! :p

Like I said, atiflash tools dont work 4 me..

d:\atiflash\dos>atiflash -s 0 new.bin
Adapter not found

The windoz version says it cant read the ROM.

PT, You got 8 chips? I got 4x HYB18H512321BF-14.

I've hit 1110Mhz on my VRAM adn I think it could go higher, but something's limiting the clock, just like with the GPU. 1110Mhz seems to be 100% stable, 100% artifact free, but when I try 1120 I get blank screen and freeze.

Maybe I was rushing a bit in the heat of the moment when I said Sapphire ownz; actually Qimonda ownz for selling 0.8-1ns chips marked as 1.4.. I'm kinda upset cuz the fan is broken somehow and makes alot of noise.. something like an old SCSI hi-rpm hardrive if You know the sound. I took it off, cleaned it with an "clean and lube" spray, tried to re-fit it but nothing.. it's just broken inside. BTW, I know now that the card has automatic fan control :)
I'll try to exchange the fan for a another one pff..

I said I had 930mhz core :(

Max stable & artifact free clocks:
GPU(mem def): 930gpu/700mem
MEM(gpu def): 800gpu/1110mem

Seems to me like max mem freq is limited by the memory controler in the GPU, not the RAM chips.
So, the final stable freq are: 920GPU/1060MEM.

3DMark06: 5.878

not without vmods (at least 3dmark) :(

really? Your not so far off from 900Mhz I thought you could hit it on water.

So is your machine quite-er?

Well at least one good thing came out of this. I am sooo surprised that you can't clock that GPU up anymore.

haven't tried much, and it's 2am, i'm sleepy
will try again tomorrow

i tryed overclocking to 884mhz but theres no different from 857 to 884, so i think thats why amd/ati as put a limit on the overclock to 857.... or im i doing something wrong? because at 884 it doesn't seem any faster... i've also uninstalled Catalyst Control Center but it's still the same... it does clock it at 884 and 904 but the fame rate speed doesn't increase....

i've contacted sapphire , maybe they have a bios update for the card...

I replaced the faulty cooler, applied some silver grease and added an extra fan in my case.
The 100% stable&arifact-free new clocks are: 920/1090.

3DMark06: 5.930

now try it at 857. i think u will see the same result.... because when i clock my card to 884 there was no different in fame rate from 857 to 884 even to 904....

how come no1 has any v mods yet, it cant be any different then looking at a x800 card just the mods are in different places, i mean i couldnt do it but who ever used to do them could?as temps dont seem to be a problem on these cards

i think when u clock past 857 say 891 its still running like at 857 and i guess thats why the temps don't increase... theses no increase in performance past 857

i noticed differences at 920 core from 857 ;)
