That really is an odd question.

No where in your post did you say anything to suggest your computer is not currently meeting your needs. Therefore, I have to conclude that, for now, yes, your computer is still OK.

Only you can really answer that question. Does it accomplish what you want it to in a timeframe you're happy with?

‎Your PC is very good, even 2k games and the latest games. The best component is the CPU and GPU. You don't need an Upgrade even in ten years!‎

If you're happy with what the machine achieves for you at the moment, why are you asking the question?

You could get a gpu upgrade and be ok...

What are Internet games? Browser games? Seems your usage is rather light, so I would say the PC is okay for now. If you want to pick up serious gaming (not only MC), consider a new GPU.

This is ... incorrect, to say the least, unless the OP only plays Dwarf Fortress.

But as said, yeah if you're happy with it be happy. A modern machine will be much faster of course in every way, but that is basically a question of money. I will say if you upgrade your CPU and motherboard (and possiibly RAM) get a new PSU as well. The one you have now is ... crap, to be honest.

Is your power supply Cooler Master Thunder 600w? If so, it is likely more than seven years old and could be on its way out. I'd recommend replacing it with one from a more reputable brand.

If you do a lot of 4K/HDR editing, your system would benefit from 32 GB of RAM and a more spacious SSD.

Nice motherboard. A couple years ago I tried to find a used x99 Pro board, but I couldn't find one at a decent price. Then I lucked out and found a guy on Craigslist that was selling a RVE board for a good price. A few months ago I bought a Core i7-6950x for $200 off ebay.

I don't know what you need to upgrade. Have you tried checking your system's resource monitor while you're running those editing programs? You shouldn't need a full system upgrade.

If you want to, you could add more RAM since DDR4 memory is very cheap these days. Maybe an NVMe drive if you want one. I wouldn't bother with trying to upgrade the GPU until this Graphics card shortage blows over.

If it works don't fix it.

I'd replace the PSU immediately. LC Power is a F-tier manufacturer.

The funny thing about this PSU is, if you Google it, it just blurts out Cooler Master instead. Suffice to say it should be replaced if a new high power GPU is bought.

Considering that the OP has a HEDT platform with 280X, it's a miracle that it hasn't blown up already.

One thing I have learned in my life about PC hardware forums is that people always exaggerate when it comes to PSUs. Understandable because it's a very important piece of the PC, but still.

My guess is, this PSU is probably average level, I don't think it's complete garbage.

I have seen "complete garbage" PSUs still chugging along just fine in 10, 12+ year old computers that have never been opened up even once for  cleaning.

So I agree with your assessment about exaggerated claims. I am a strong proponent for using a quality PSU since everything inside the case depends on good, clean stable power. But just because a PSU does not have the most reputable brand name on it, that does not mean it cannot, or is not doing its job.

In this case, what certainly helps is ASUS motherboards are no slouches when it comes to power regulation either.

Don't have anything to add to that, pretty much true.

I also wanna add, the OP has a decent CPU, the only thing outdated (for gaming) is the GPU. This is a 6 Core Haswell, even 4 core i7 is still decent.

X99 HEDT=Get 4x8 GB RAM for 32 GB. As X99 supports quad-channel.

As others have mentioned, if you are happy with how it is, then the thing you would see the most benefit from due to video editing & photoshop, would be to upgrade the RAM to at least 32GB or even 64GB if you are working with 4K video or RAW image files/lots of layers.

I think he was joking... Ha, ha.
