The Ampere owners club - 30xx series

Nice. Congrats on the purchase.:toast: Haven't really had much time for proper gaming sessions, but in Benchmarks its Fast!!! :rockout: Under load it gets up to 74°C (80°C Hotspot) on the core, 84°C on the memory. I get 19183 Points in 3DMark Time Spy on stock settings, which i think is not bad. And the Card is not loud at all...

I am also thinking of putting it under water, like i had my 1080ti, but at the moment there just isn't enough time for such projects. (I am a proud father of a almost 10months old son)

Those are some impressive results. I'll share mine when I get it in the mail later this week. Thanks for the update ... and yes, kids should always come first.

Guys, crossflashing advice

I'm getting a bug where if i have two monitors connected (even if #2 is disabled and powered off) the first monitors backlight never shuts down when its meant to be sleeping.

Just updated from my old BIOS on 94.02.26.C0.35 to this similar one
VGA Bios Collection: GALAX RTX 3090 24 GB | TechPowerUp on 94.02.26.C0.3F

let's see if it helps

Uhh... yes. it worked.

I solved my never ending 'monitor sleeps but backlight stays on' issue by crossflashing my 3090. Huh.

for the couple last days..........the price for almost all rtx 3000 series on my country, the average price has decreased, even though it hasn't reached the MSRP......

I wonder, will it fall to ~MSRP before 40 series launch, then go right back up for similar reasons? mostly crazy demand, assuming many people have reached this point and decided to hold off.

RTX 3080s 10G are still 12-1400 usd I'm doubtful any models will approach msrp even when 4000 series launches. My guess is Nvidia will cut back manufacturing the minute sales slow.

yup, average price for rtx 3080 10gb series on my country..... today, between USD 1400-1600.....but, for rtx 3080 ti 12gb series, still USD 2000-2300..... but for all rtx 3050 8gb - rtx 3070 ti 8gb, the price has fallen, but not so much......

Okay the monitor backlight staying on issue:

It depends whats on the screen.

Edge, steam etc: they keep the backlight on. Everything minimised, or heaven forbid a forgotten game running? no problem, goes black.

Edit: i'll forget if i dont post it here, trying to disable "USB selective suspend" as there is a theory that windows suspends the hotpluggable DP monitor, rather than sleeping it

I just turn the OLED TV off everytime I go outside the room :D.

joking aside I use nircmd with shortcut to turn off monitor, see if that completely turn off your backlight

A poll was done on a UK forum, to see the split of ownership between AIB and FE, and the result was roughly 2/3 of 3000 series owners have an FE card, only 1/3 AIB. I wonder if same poll could be done here? Seems in the UK FE availability has made massive in roads in AIB sales to gamers.

That's gunna vary by region, guess what the FE ownership is in Au?

Here is mine with Palit Gamerock 3090. Have a higher one (around 23200) but it's with a custom 550w bios

Sold my 1070 Ti and RX 6600 XT and got a RTX 3060 Ti, don't know if i will keep it though. This is what i achieved with undervolting. 1925Mhz at 0.875V. Is it "good", how are your cards performing with UV ?

how are your cards performing with UV
I haven't undervolted mine because I don't have problems with temps. But it does 1980 core on its own..

You can undervolt+overclock like this so you don't have to drag each v/f point.

1920mhz/875mV is pretty good bin for 3060ti, my 3090 (which is a very good sample with 2190mhz max clocks) is stable at 1920mhz/850mV

I undervolt all my cards. I don't have to have a problem with it to UV. You get lower power consumption, lower case and room temperature and prolong the life of the card. Win-win. Same with the CPUs. My 12600K and RTX 3060Ti combo went from about 370W at the wall socket to 310W with UV.
This Gigabyte stays at about 62ºC with 1800 rpm, when playing DCS World. With a room temperature of about 25ºC.

no. we didnt get them here.
Could've sworn you said somewhere yours was a founders. Oh well... Zero is the obvious answer then!

reference, aka RE

The better poll is did people get FE, RE, or custom PCB

today, the prices of rtx 3000 series on my country, its look a like will be going down, but not close as to MSRP......but, for the price of rtx 3080 ti 12gb series, its still not much going down.....

Mine does 1965@900mv so in line with yours.

I usually run it at 1620@731mv and mining/gaming at the same time. Powerconsumption is max 125W vs 205W stock and perf is about 90%.

I'm seeing some EVGA 3080 12GB models selling for very good price at my local shop, the EVGA 3080 12GB FTW3 is selling for 1000usd+VAT, making it 100usd cheaper than 6800XT and 400usd cheaper than 3080Ti.

A friend who has been ever-so-patiently waiting, opted for a prebuild yesterday. Until about 6 or so weeks ago, 3080 10GB LHR cards were going for ~$2000 AUD or more, this prebuild deal with a 10700F and 3080 10Gb started at $1888 AUD, and he upgraded to the 3080 12GB for $99 AUD which I said was a steal, I'd have one in a heartbeat at that price too.
