The mirrors on PCGamer don't work, so here's a magnet link (hopefully this is allowed, it can be removed if it isn't)

Code:
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:fgzdm32lgnurbextst2o3jll2sdplyuh

I've run some malware scans and used VirusTotal, and it looks safe to me.

But if you're paranoid, you can always download UE5 and compile it yourself.

My system gets a nice and cinematic 15-30 FPS at default settings and 3440x1440

That demo does look pretty awesome though.

They were close but no cigar... I still dont get why the UT project fell flat. I guess Battle Royale shooters killed it slowly.

So I gave this a try for the lolz.
My used/second hand aging GTX 1070 was like dude you are playing a dangerous game here.

Anyway this is how that turned out with default settings and 2560x1080 res:

Yeah no.
It looks great for what its worth, draw distance is crazy when I go to the fly mode or look up tall buildings and its detailed all the way up + nice reflections in general.
Lights also look comfortably neutral and nice. 'I assume Lumen and Nanite is in full effect in this demo'

Absolutely beautiful, my 3080 Ti was struggling at 4k trying to stay a bit above 30ish 40ish FPS with stutters. The amount of detail and the draw distance is awesome, a city bathed in comfortable light. I really hope we start seeing some UE5 games soon (and a reboot of the UT series, damn I miss that).

Correct me if I'm wrong but the first 'proper' AAA game to be relased with UE 5 is Stalker 2 or well supposed to be but it was delayed to the end of the year if not more cause yeah bad situation over there as we know.
I wasn't too interested in the game itself but I was curious how its gonna perform on various hardware just to get an idea of a possible upgrade for myself in the future. 'GPU that is'

Most of the games I play use UE 4 and I assume it will be the same with 5 once its more widely/commonly used like 4 is/was.

And yea a new UT or heck even a single player Unreal like 1/2 was would be great. :)

Something in my system dislikes UE5. Demo runs like shit, cpu and gpu don't go over 40/50%, keep getting crashes and errors. There was no vsync, system runs every game fine including UE4 games. I just gave up.

Thanks for reminding me, really looking forward to that game because of the atmosphere and setting! Imagine all the crazy creepy lighting; the sun setting and the final rays peer through the high reed and then it settles. Thick mist roiling through an irradiated swamp and trying not get ambushed by bloodsuckers :P. Anyway, let's hope things take a turn for the better, we can wait. They've got bigger problems than a game to worry about right. Wish them all the best.

Anyway, the UT "project" build with UE4 was awesome, a much more bare bones shooter that played great. For me personally it wasn't that much fun like '99 and UT2004 but still fun. Never liked UT3 that much but can't really recall why though.

HEADSHOT!!!(FUNNIEST SOUND TO IT)
Whatcha this at 1:09 then 1:21

DOUBLE KILL,
TRIPLE KILL, MULTI KILL, MEGA KILL, ULTRA KILL , HOLY-HOLY-HOLY SHITTTTTT!!!

Quake and UT were the original Battle Royale Shooters.

UT3 Bit, they changed certain weapons way too much, game was looking like Gears of War as well.

I only hope they don't repeat UE4's mistakes by over-obsessing on the eye candy so much they forget to get the basics right like borked default cursor key binding that fails to properly mirror WASD, or the weird ultrawide unfriendly Vert- scaling (vs Hor+ of UE1-3...)

Can someone explain this, see the message: "Nanite is used in the scene, but not supported by your graphics hardware/or driver. Meshes will not render using Nanite"

Using a Radeon Pro W5500 and older drivers Adrenalin 20.9.1. Do you have to use the newest drivers just to run this game?

Nanite is their tesselation tech. It increases the poly-count of meshes the closer you get to them.

It's probably just not supported in the driver you're using. I'm running 22.4.1 and it worked properly on my 5700 XT.

Could you recreate this scene once again using this shipped build? It should run much faster than the development build everyone uses right now, as development adds a ton of profiling stuff in the background.

Also your settings in the GameUserSettings are all at 3 and screen percentage at 100%, yes?

I will see what can I do tomorrow, also is this a stand alone executable version too?

Yep! Thank you!

The reason I am asking is because I recreated your scene at these exact settings on my RTX 2060 laptop which has the raw performance of a desktop 1070.. Well, its running at 30 FPS on that spot.

Now I am wondering if that's because you are using the development build or if its because the engine does make very efficient use of the RT cores inside my machine.

Edit: nevermind, DLSS Quality is enabled by default in this build.

Not sure but also keep in mind that I'm using a 2560x1080 monitor which is a bit more demanding to run than standard 1080P.
In most cases/games I get about ~10 FPS less with this resolution.

Settings I did not check, its whatever set to default but I will check. :D

Edit: Actually DLing this will take some time, data transfer limits as a free user huh.

Yes I am aware of that, I was running 2560x1080 at native res on my external monitor for testing purposes ;)

Alright, then you have nothing to worry about. It's set to 3 by default!

Magnet link isn't working
Seems to be working for me (granted, I have the file already). Probably not enough seeders.

ocCVqMZ.png

I have my server set to seed it until I decide to turn it off.

God those were the days, gonna fire it up this weekend with some booze, got the Saturday off this week :D Anyone wanna join a server? Probably going to try this with the nGlide wrapper since 3DFX (RIP, F) had the best feeling gameplay IMHO. Still have the original CD's ripped to my server.

Ooh and I'm still seeding the download, not sure why it isn't working for you. Have you tried Transmission-QT for Windows? It's free, minimal and works like a charm without adware (that used to be a thing). I'm running a container with the transmission client and a VPN, pretty nifty client.
