It's impossible to find in EU especially on Amazon where it can't be found! eBay also is very limited!
I heard some rumours about Arctic.de re-calling it as a failed product because so many people kept reporting that they noticed oil seperation on said paste!!

What do you guys think, is Arctic MX-5 something to consider or just go with MX-4?

It died.
Apparently, there were some consistency (production and product) concerns and Arctic ended up EOLing the product. Just go with MX-4.

Edits: apparently I am bad with forums.

As said, you can go with MX4 and be OK, it's still good paste and this proves just because something is "New" doesn't mean it's better or even as good.
Even if you happen to find some MX2, that itself is still good stuff and it works fine.
It's what I've been using and no issues at all here with it.

I have both MX2 and MX4 but want to try Kryonaut as it looks like chewing gum. Nom!

I've mostly used Kryonaut over the past 5 years. It's fantastic if not a bit pricey, but it is finnicky with it's application. It greatly benefits from the spatula application method (thin even spread over IHS before installing cooler).

It's so thick that unless your cooler has a very high clamping force it won't actually spread evenly from pressure from the traditional pea / rice / center dot method, and putting too much on can actually create a "layer" of TIM that reduces optimal heat transfer.

I'll bare that in the old noggin'. My current cooler is a Vetroo V5. So I'll get me "Spadger" out and smear it as thin as I can first. Cheers!

MX5 is discontinued. Your results may vary per batch. Or whatever is left on the market.

Hi,
No recall just replacement of mx-4 I hope 2019 version if you request one plus proof of purchase and photo of the defective paste.

Should look like greenish alien baby crap

Probably should of added this info to the eol thread

I like thermalright TF7
Kryonaut is too wet and dries over time, TF7 has better viscosity cuz it's carbon based

Thermalright products aren't available in Europe.

Arctic just sent me three small tubes of MX-5 to try out for free. They arrived this afternoon.

I haven’t tried TF7 yet, but I have a couple of grams that came with my coolers. I did use a big tube of TF8 and thought it was awesome. Then I tried TFX and it is the best I have used so far. Right now I am using SYY-157 and it is pretty good, especially for the price.
