Intel Arc A750 & A770 Unboxing & Preview

My guess is it will match a 3070 in some games, but mostly tie the 3060 and 3060 ti in majority of games. Combine that with XeSS, FSR 2.0+, and for $329 still a good deal imo.

All depends if it can run older games fine, or if the new tech just crashes those older games. but yeah I am seriously considering a 13400f when it comes out for hopefully $199 launch, and this gpu for $329, will be a solid build for my 165hz 1080p setup.

for 4k I will just stick with my PS5 I guess (which I haven't opened my PS5 yet, but I will soon for Ragnarok)

Well, the 40 series is upon us as well. So if the 4060 or Nvidia equivalent is priced around $330, it’ll obliterate this thing. Then Intel’s card won’t make much sense.

Yeah right the mythical 4060 that will only release in more than a year and looking at the price of the 4070, excuse me, 4080 12gb, it will surely be anywhere close to 330$

How the hell do you know? So you have price points on an unreleased card? There’s absolutely NO reason to bring up a 4080 at all! This card is not competing with that card.

Good job Raja Koduri.

It's nothing special. These cards are a derivative from a computational based card for the enterprise market. The same is with Mi and Vega brand. They both the same chip, usually the gamer variant have less compute based features compared to the enterprise level. Downside is, they usually consume more power because it's designed as a computational card, and thus doing more work to provide the same "FPS".

Wonder about power consumption. If I remember correctly the 6600xt, 6650, and 3060 are all mostly found as a single 8 pin where the 770 is asking for 8 +6

It's only to distribute the power more even. Esp when you OC. When you have a 8 + 6 it does'nt mean it's going to consume 75W + 150W + 75W ... it just evenly loads up the wires. PCI-E power cables and i'm talking good quality ones can yield 12A per yellow wire. Thats 48 Amps for just one 8 Pin connector, roughly 575W. Its just not advised to run that on cheap components, they will melt your platform.

more interested in the 770 than the 4090.

I must agree. Even with the abysmal performance of the 770, curiosity wins from yet another fire hazard.

Also, Intel is releasing dual slot cards which strangely is now a unique selling point again. Oh man, how stuff escalated in camp green.

There is not even a tiny bit of noise about a 4060, so you're the one bringing up unreleased cards here buddy. The 4080 12GB is the only measurable point in the Nvidia stack, next to the exisiting 3060 this card should be competing with. Where is the room in the stack to place a card at 330 with '4060' performance? So far, Nvidia seems content to just respin their Ampere midrange, and even the 3060ti is priced higher.

I don't know if I'd call it abysmal, more like mediocre. Which honestly doesn't bother me as I'm just excited to see they're actually going to release the card at a reasonable MSRP. Seriously considering the A770 16GB as they supposedly have quite the overclocking headroom and I'd love to see how the card opens up when higher clocks are pushed. 2100MHz feels like a pretty conservative clock speed for N6 but who knows. Maybe OC is the reason for the 8+6 power? But then again the 5+1 VRM design of the reference card doesn't instill a whole lot of confidence... This is going to be a fun one to test!

@W1zzard
You're likely already planning this, but just in case, while you're testing can you show performance with and without ResizableBAR? Even if only a few quick tests to show a comparison, it would be useful to know the differences. EDIT: The reason is that these cards hit a price-point that makes a lot of people happy and many will likely want to know what they can expect if they want to take a chance with these cards on an older system. Hopefully, it the hit won't be too bad...

So far I've only seen Gunnir, Asrock and Acer.

I don't see Nvidia dropping the 4070 segment and below, it will just have terrible value (again). But it's too early to say whether this will give Intel a chance to compete with a piece of hardware that has been repeatedly delayed at this point.
There you go!

There you go!

That headline is both phrased as a question and starts with the word "If". Reliability rating: Low.
