this is the way of the world now. it's a shit world. i don't have any hopes of getting RDNA3 unless I camp out for one, and it has nothing to do with supply issues, it has do with so many fucking wankers that have third party stores on Amazon and Walmart, etc that use bots to buy up a bunch of new product and re-sell.

normally it was never a problem, but now there are too many of them, and they fucking ruin everything.

useless world we live in.
Annoying, isn't it? All we want is for the new thing to be priced reasonably and available on launch day, but that never happens.

Will be interesting to see how this poll changes after reviews are up
When does the NDA lift?

At this point we pretty much know how it will perform based on the leaks and nV slides. Unless...

Certainly will be, and multiple ways to interpret and read between the lines on what you've said there too. If it's truly amazing performance that is above expectations, we may see more people flip. If it's below expectations... yikes for the asking price.

Given your comment, my guess is the former, which would be cool.

Will be interesting to see how many lawsuits erupt after 2kg of fury summoning enough power to form a black hole defeats the structural integrity of flimsy sheet metal and robot spot welding.:laugh::laugh:

You gotta quit buying those cheapo cases :)

Either that or buy a Fractal :)

I'm still voting with my wallet and opting to not give nVidia my money. I don't care how good their cards are, I don't want to support their business practices.

Hi,
Why
Unless you think a review of cost is needed
It's about all that matters anymore
Performance past a price point is a very narrow audience but then again they'd be looking at a lower end card to not a 4090

Either way I wouldn't consider anything at release
Always 6-12 months after.

100%.
The Radeon RX 7800 XT at 80-90% of the performance for 30% of the price and 50% the power consumption will be a better buy, always and 100%.

Waiting for 4090 not to buy, but because of it may have cause 3000 series to decrease in price.

does camping my bot counts?

W1zzard has spilled the beans, LOL. There's just one way to read this comment: RTX 4090 performance is stellar.

Despite that it's still ridiculously expensive, power hungry and in a perfect world requires a new ATX 3.0 PSU.

Why in a perfect world? This 600-watt monster will have such horrendous power spikes, that I'm not sure that any PSU will survive without unexpected shutdowns, freezes, driver stopped responding, restarts and all the other unwanted hazards resulting from an under engineered hardware.

Yes, of course, a new PSU worth of 2 kW will be sufficient.
What do you want me to say lol? I need another GPU anyways, I have more than one rig. And I want to play at my tv's native resolution, which is 3840x2160. Gonna spend more than a G already to do that, with tax probably closer to 13-1500 anyways. And my oldest boy will get my 3070, and the youngest will play Roblox on a GTX 980 Classified :D, which is better than my GTX 580 Matrix Platinum

After that I will be set for a few years :toast:

I think this card is an equivalent of the older dual-GPU cards such as the GTX 690 or Radeon HD 7990.
You can get something like the RTX 4080-16 or Radeon RX 7800 XT.

Given the state of QC/QA maybe not a very funny joke. I was at least half joking.

FWIW I pulled out a tape and feel confident unless the STRIX 4090ti grows more than another 2" in any direction my case could swallow the length and height. PSU shelf any bracing would rely on the strength of is basically suspended across entire length though. Not to mention how compromised sheet of aluminum mobo is screwed onto became through numerous shaped and sized holes drilled and cut out of it. This is a +20 lb mATX case without a glass side panel inflating that number. Larger dimensions of ATX don't behave favorably.

I fully expect some failures. Decapitated figurines and all the other horrors depicted in that gif.

Well I did say a 4080 or 4090.. one or the other :)

Not sure about AMD GPU's yet. It was hard enough for me to go back to AMD CPU's

I've got like 3 more loan payments left and then I am pretty much in the clear... it's been a long 5 years but I made it lol.. so I wont be buying one at launch, but I do plan on buying a 4090, maybe a 4080. One or the other, but for sure one of them, probably just after Christmas. And a PSU too I guess :wtf:

Was going to say your 750w seasonic is sweating as you type this :toast:

I think most are assuming 80-100% more rasterized performance than the 3090ti and more than that for RT.

As long as it's at least 50-60% over a 3090ti I'm ok spending 16-1700 usd on it.

Oh yeah, running F@H on my 5900X and 3070 Ti both boosting pretty hard would cause it to shut down so hard you have to trip the switch to get the system to power up again. It is fine in the 5600X system, its barely doing anything there unfortunately. Although I could probably get away using it with the X3D. But it is doing ok where it is right now.. and it will get the Ti again in a few short months but together they run fine, no problems.

But back then when I bought it there was no 850s and up due to shortages, etc. But it is crazy that the cheapo evga psu that I was forced to buy bundled could power the 5900X and 3070 boosting hard and running F@H for days with no problems.

I'm not buying any card this time around but to be fair, I wouldn't buy NV anyway since I don't like their attitude towards gamers and customers with their prices and proprietary software. I'm not only a gamer but that does not change much to be honest. The pricing is an insult to everyone who have any decency in them and should not buy 4000 series cards with those prices despite if the they have the money or not. NV showed they do not care about anything except money with no boundaries.
If the prices drop then I might reconsider but I doubt it.

I am happy to have a 2060. I play games. With 16gb of corsair memory ddr4. A bronze rated 650w corsair psu. TUF B-450 plus gaming Asus mb socket am4. My CPU is old and but u can play pretty much anything. May not be the best fps but works. If anyone gets a new 4000 series. Il take hand me downs for a good price GPU wise . I have the Asus oc edition geforce rtx 2060 6 GB. With a ryzen 5 3200 six core . Are the 4080s really the 4070s re packed? Or something I heard

Yea it's like 1200 bucks from 1k for base?

Must be nice. Cheers

Nah, not in the market for such cards in the first place + would never camp for one either:). 'don't even live in America'

I have never 1. camped, 2. paid into pre-sales 3. or from the comfort of me home bought into newly released available hardware on release day

Camping is a little too extreme for me but i won't mock... its probably enjoyable too...you know getting it on with the outdoors (although i prefer the natures greens) and meeting other people with similar interests. The flip side being, with previous Gen cards quickly going out of stock, bots/scalpers taking the pee pee, AIB cards first launchers being way too pricey, i can't blame people getting sick and tired of waiting and waiting and waiting.... bless them for getting off their lazy backsides (me usually) and camping up like midnight street warriors.

On the outset, if I could sum up my feelings about camping for a "4090":

Its almost a social experiment! :D

NVIDIA has specifically addressed the power spikes issue for Lovelace. I'd be OK if you said that because you overlooked that but seeing likes on your message indicates that people in general are not paying attention.

And the immense amount of zoom/blur/edit on the right pic doesn't seem odd to you?
Do they force feed you bullshit on the daily so you stopped noticing?

Matter of fact, these two graphs could be anything from anywhere, maybe someone recording Huang's fart. They keep fixing things they already had optimized, power delivery was supposed to be razor sharp since Pascal. All of a sudden, Samsung's Ampere hits, and its all kinds of crappy again. Who knows what happens next.

L2Marketing pls
