Some Navi 31 cards made by AMD have shipped with a defective vapor-chamber cooler. We're wondering how many people are affected.

I wish I had a free one to participate in this poll...

@W1zzard personally I would have asked for a gpuz screenshot next to an open Tpu user profile to validate ownership.

Because the militancy of some of the site trolls worries me.

Like the poll though.

What counts as "issues", I imagine this means whether or not your card is reaching 110C hotspot out of the box ?

Does my MSI Trio 6800 XT reaching 99 C hotspot count, lol jk I know it is "normal" even though I still find it unacceptable.

I hate on Nvidia a lot, but damn I respect their cooling solutions and quality control. I love AMD so much, its so frustrating seeing them do these kinds of mistakes.

Exactly I'm having no issues at all because I don't own one, does that count as a no, and the voters are not exposed, I haven't voted btw.

No temperature or throttling issues with my reference 7900xt even after an hour of furmark or all night running folding@home to heat my room.

I'm curious about your PPD on the 7900XT. My 6800XT gets 3.5-5.0 million PPD depending on the work units.

Maybe add option of " I don't have one " just in case you get people that click no even though they don't own one.

So, I voted yes but that isn't entirely accurate.

I bought a 7900xtx XFX merc speedster 24GB for over 1300.

Waited almost four years to play half life Alyx, because I wanted a gpu that could handle those resolutions immersively. I am a half life fan, it is my favorite game next to doom, I'm that old so I wanted to play it in the most spectacular fashion as I could get nerdstalgic chills while playing and have continuity of my youthful recreation in a way that I could enjoy fully.

Seeing first hand that AMD is just as capital driven as Blue or Green team. I still want to stop things like the 4080 to happen (12 or 16gb versions), and $voted 7900xtx.

Alyx has been unplayable. Any VR game has been unplayable. It isn't the link cable, I've been using my mobile gpu with it for sometime and a further double check confirmed the same software on a different card works, as did the 3060ti I sold to move to a 7900xtx.

I don't know if it's just a defective model or what, but I've been searching for answers and toggling settings for about a week now and I'm going to return the card.

I used to love AMD making every single build through the years on their chipsets. I try to support the little guy, the underdog, someone who will bring balance to the force of the monopolistic hold Nvidia has. Their choice to price fix the market with Nvidia, producing subpar gpu for me, and pricing their chipsets and cpus like Intel has broken my brand loyalty.

I honestly didn’t pay attention, sorry. I’ll try it again and try to remember to update.

Bought an MBA card from AMD.com on the 16th of December. Recieved 23rd.
Runs stress tests with a 400 W load (+15 % power) at 90-95 °C junction with fan speed reduced to 50 % max.

And I am truly sorry to hear that you've had a less than positive experience so far on 7900XTX MERC319, but this poll is about the 110C reference card issue. Why would you vote yes and make the poll results less reliable if you don't have the junction temp problem?

that ratio not looking good o.O

I voted yes, but I don't personally own one, two of my friend got 7900XTX, only one of them had issue, I reckon they most likely aren't TPU reader so.... No harms done?

Give us an option i don't own one , OR i am on green team

I’m not saying it’s a board issue, but maybe it’s a board issue?

The XFX owner or the XTX's junction temp problem? The MERC does not use the reference PCB.

The latter is confirmed by AMD to be the vapour chambers like derbauer suspected (3:30):

I was optimistic the other day, but reddit as of yesterday is saying that although AMD has acknowledged the issue they are now delaying replacement indefinitely due to a lack of inventory.

Strange how such trollish polls are started so often when is related to AMD, but when Nvidia had problem with the connector or Intel had socket bending issue, there is no such polls.

Seems to be about the same result as the poll from Der8auer, which was 25% with issues, with about 800 people having voted.

Man, 95 people so far with issues just from people that read this website, this is way more wide spread than AMD is letting on...

The poll cannot be reliable without screenshot of the owner during gaming or a stress test.

What is the average RMA % of GPU`s in general?
I guess it`s in the sub 1% isn`t it?

That's at maximum, usually below that significantly.
