I know an 13 year old friend, who wants to go into "Robotics"... Like an basic Battlebot...

Soo... He has absolutely no idea about what he's going to use. He says he's going to make an welded frame... then something about an saw blade welded to the frame... I tell him he needs:

Transmitter
Reciever
Servos
Battery (Lithium Ion, or Lipo)
Brushless or Brushed motor (I say brushless if he wants to use heavy loads)

And he has no idea what the heck I'm talking about. Any books yall recommend for an beginner-begineer?
 
If he's getting into the science fair doing a project he knows almost nothing about, don't you think he's in a bit over your head?

that's where the fun and learning comes in.

I would look for an R/C shop in town.
 
or a radio shack.but there is nothing better that exploration and testing.. ahh i remember when i was in college i was trying to make 2 girls to "explore" each other ahhh

which was your excuse of it ???among others i told them that only another woman knows the needs of female body (which is a lame excuse)
